Default STi involved Fatality *update*

Late last summer I posted information about the incident. 134 MPH...wtf! Here is an update:

The Frederick News-Post Online - Frederick County Maryland Daily Newspaper

Here is the original link I posted:

Welcome Members!

FWIW: This was one of the worst collisions I have ever seen. The incident was hundreds of feet long and nobody in the STi was killed. One of the reasons I was bought the STi was after seeing how the STi held-up.

Drive safe and keep it on the track!

Wow, way to stand up and take responsibility in the passive voice.

You sure it was an STi or just a WRX, after looking at the engine on these pics, looks like its just a WRX.

Horrible accident and reckless driving nonetheless.

The rear brakes are pretty small... looks like it was a WRX.

Not an STi engine either.

IIRC there was an STi badge I saw somewhere on the scene. Might have been "bling" but I didn't have my STi yet, so I was not that smart back then.

To give an idea of the incident area, the engine was 300 feet or so from the Subi. The entire incident length was over 1000 feet, from the fatality Toyota to the Subi.

Believe it or not, the engine is designed to detach during bad accidents. Less mass for the passengers to be injured by.

It was a WRX, wonder how he hit them head on? It looked to be a pretty straight road as it looks from the pics.

horrible story. bad time.

reminds me of the guy that got wedged between the two 18 wheelers and then the one behind him ran his sti over and he walked away I believe. I can't find the video from the accident but its what made me realize the sti was safe. I mean deff LUCK but also the car.

At 140, you discover the hidden meaning of bump steer. Are the stock WRX tires even rated for that speed?

The accident occurred just past a gradual curve before the straight.
