I live in NH and would love to find a killer deal on a used 750. I hadn't even thought to check the forums, will do tonight. That's a really good idea and I can't believe I overlooked it. Thanks man!

- Get full coverage insurance, so when you dump it you don't have to eat the money. I didn't and I got to eat $6k.

- Buy a bike thats a year or two old. When I bought my 05 cbr600rr back in 06 I paid 6200 for it, sticker is $9k for a new one. Save some money bikes depreicate very fast. Get a slightly older one.

If I think of any other good advice I'll post it.

I still think you are buying too much bike. Listen to 300hp@6000RPM & Viperguy, they have some good advise. Buy a used Kawasaki 250R, Buell Blast, or Suzuki SV650 (the SV is plenty fast). You will save on insurance, the cost of repairs/maintenance in addition to learning and gaining experience. After a year, buy whichever bike you think is best for you.

And take a MSF motorcycle safety course.......First!

I took the msf course a few years back, so worth it! I don't even have a bike still! lol, damn car payments..

I wouldn't go with anything over 600cc for a first bike. If i were you, i'd buy a used one..because YOU WILL DROP YOUR BIKE! esp. if you're a newb. Good luck! Be safe.. a lot of idiot drivers out there.

Seriously, the "outgrow" line is the most ignorant line noobs throw out there. I started on my 2003 SV650 4 years ago (I had prior dirtbike experience). I've logged 18,000 miles + on it and still going. Although I want to add a second bike to the stable, I'll never the sell the SV.

The reality is this: a large percentage of riders out there will never be able to exploit their bikes abilities. This is especially true on race replicas. The only place you can truly use every once of their speed, handling, and braking is on a closed course. Even then you need the skills to do so.

A GSXR-750, an R6, etc... is way too much bike for a noob. But this is the USA and people with no experience can go out and buy a machine well beyond their abilities. I guess this is where Darwin takes over...

Beautiful bike! Now for that riding gear to work you have to wear it every time you ride. Even when it is way too hot to be outside.

When I first bought my 1000 everybody tried to talk me out of it but I wouldn't listen, I didn't expect you to either.

Thanks man!

Well I kinda listened because I almost bought a 1000

but yeah this thing scares me to death so i'll be wearing the gear all the time every time. most people around here (NH) don't even wear helmets because it's not required .

The Racing community is happy with your purchase. As the parts will funnel down.

just remember this. riding a bike is like boating
respect the water and it will respect you
in other words dont be a d1ckhead and always remember that bike can kill you without thinking about it so dont think your better than it.
+1 on the frame sliders, the first mod i put on my 600f4i
