Friends Do Not Understand Why I Love My Subaru So Much...

Everyone loves their Subaru and my friends have never understood it. They find it wierd I wash it once a week and spend many hours working on it and always looking and doing research on for car. Even my girlfriend does not understand me putting money into my car. They really find it funny when I drive super slow in gravel right after I washed it. Does anyone else have this problem?

Yeah a lot of people don't get it. I get wierd looks sometimes when people ask me what my interests are and I tell them "my car". You'll get used to it.

yeah i have been there before..people always see me washing it, taking pics of it or doing other random things. they always give me crap about it and say im all in love with my car and thats all i care about. one of my friends just got a bike and she told me she knows how i feel now cuz she is doing the exact same thing

she didnt understand it at first but now she does

They all get used to it.

My GF the other day asked me if I'd rather spend money on the STi or her.

Me: Do you really want me to answer that question?

LOL!!! yeah for some reason its an addiction. i think its due to forums like this with so much info and soooo many mods you can do to make your already high performance car even better and more unique

Well, I'll tell you this, I would lose 85% of my interest in cars if they were driven about electric motors

But yea, it is an addiction, but a very fun one. Your friends will get used to it.

I don't think I would care. I prefer driving to tinkering. So as long as those electic cars can go fast around a race track, I'm happy.

this thread is great... Not only am I super into my car, but I am a SUPER Obsessive Compulsive anal retentive freak about it. I do things like park at far end of parking lots where no one ever parks to stay free of door dings and shopping cart trauma. I dont let anyone lean on it or even touch it with their grimmy hands. Im sure all of this is not unfamiliar to most of you.

^You can knock the window off its track and or break it that way. I've informed anyone who rides with me to NOT close the door with the window but to use that black strip of weather barrier under the window but no the paint to close the door.

Its been working great.
