Default I test drove the Evo X today.........

and i was not impressed at all.

1) 5spd transmission? sounds like to me technology has moved backward for mitsu. i know i know a twin clutch will be offered in MR but why wouldnt mitsu use the 6spd from last gen MR on the Evo X GSR ??

2) the car didnt pull as hard as I had expected. i used to own an Evo9 and it pulled a lot harder than the X

the only thing I liked about the car is the pair of recaro. it really held you in place very very good comparing to the stock STi seat.

I agree. As a former IX owner I was extremely disappointed when I went to the dealer to look at the X. No 6 speed, no HID's and no BBS for the stock Evo for $36,XXX+ is way too expensive.

I think they took a big step backwards on this car and they are pricing themselves out of their market.

Interesting a few months ago when I was looking at the Evo X as a possible replacement to my stolen STi they were charging an $8K mark-up on it. They actually wanted 42K for a Evo X. At that point its in BMW territory, so I bought the BMW.

1. They had issues with the 6 speed gearbox. Synchro # 4 from what I hear........the 5 speed unit is said to be stronger.

2. Interesting. I did drive a stock Evo 9 and I thought it was very fast as well.

3. Recaro...ya, that's obvious. I have Evo 8 seats in my car.

A five speed is not a step backwards in technology nor is a six speed a step forward.

I clicked on this thread hoping for an insightful review....

i test drove a 9mr, it was pretty nice and quick..havent had the chance to test drive a x but mitsu salesman tried way to hard and pressured way to much to get me to buy it right then and there. and that pushed me away (not like i was going to buy it anyway tho) i did sit in a x and those seats are awesome

i believe the mr's are paddlie shifters?? not a big fan of those

Just don't push the gas pedal too hard when you test drive it

You guys know the Recaro's in the Evo X are falling apart already right? Along with the gas pedal and many other "small" things I'm sure you're buying a quality $36k car. I drive by a Mitsu dealer almost daily and see the same 3 evos on the lot. I don't think they have sold one since they came out.

Again, Mitsu quality FTL and thats why I'm driving a Subaru. If I was forced to buy an Evo it would be the IX for sure though.
