That's the thing with most people, they get stuck on something and that's IT. They don't research or test drive anything else.

I was stuck on the 350Z until I test drove it back in 2003, I also test drove the IS300, G35 and then came the STi and blew me away.

It was love at first sight, never looked back.

my dad was going to get the 350 and we test drove it and i wasnt impressed at all, but i was the same way with the sti..i went and looked at it, test drove it and pretty much bought it

yeah i know he has not test drove it cuz they havent even come out yet but i know he hasnt even test drove a gsr..he might have researched it a little bit but even then if your so stuck on something you tend to push the negatives to the side and forget about them

its like doing a hooker, she may be really dirty and your friends tell you not to but you do it anyway

The gas pedals are breaking and the Recaros are coming apart. My guess is Mitsubishi wont warranty either thing.

He wouldn't lose anything. It's against the law for the dealer to keep the deposit if you back out.

I don't know if that's 100%. We have a BMW dealer in St. Louis who has been keeping deposits for several years. Apparently in small writing it says the deposit is non-refundable.

Here's how his scam works- The customer makes a deal on a car he wants then puts down a $2,000 deposit. Then when the customer goes to close on the deal and sign the papers all the numbers are way off. The price of the car is different then agreed upon and the interest rates are higher and options are not included. Of course the customer complains and is told take the deal or leave it. So the customer backs out of the deal and demands the deposit returned but of course he is shown the "Non-Refundable" clause which he signed.

There are dozens of people who have sued to have their deposits returned but I haven't heard if they have been successful yet. This has been going on for years at this dealership and no one has stopped them as far as I know and they still sell 100+ cars a month

It does depend a bit on the state, not all states have good consumer protection laws. Anybody who puts down a deposit to hold a spot in line, without a specific VIN, and/or more than $100 deserves whatever they get. Especially if it says non-refundable in the contract and they sign their name. On the bright side, those people probably help keep dealers in the black while I go buy my cars for as close to dealer cost as posssible .

It seems like you could easily sue and get your money back. It may say that it's a non refundable deposit but the terms of the contract were never met. I would think that would make the contract void because the terms were never met by the party selling the vehicle.

yeah i thought the dude i talked to said it was non refundable because if you do back out they still have that car to sell which kind of screws them back but they got to keep that deposit..looks like it depends on the state

im sure you could sue i doubt it would be that hard
