I had to find some proof of it before I pushed the issue.

Contrast this with the fact that the fans at the Joe treat opposing fans very well, versus how Wings fans are treated in, say, Pittsburgh. Or Nashville. I've been to games in Nashville three times. Glad I didn't have my STi back then.

It's Hockeytown. The Cup belongs here (for this year at least). Besides, we're ahead in homicide, not theft. The Cup has nothing to fear from us.

Yeah I heard nothing but good things from fans I know that went up there for the games. I wish I could say the same for people that come here. I know our fans get carried away. My second team is the Avs (my favorite player got traded there) so I decided to wear one of their Jersey's to the area when they where in town a few years ago. Wow the hate .

I go to the Auto show every year in Detroit and I always have good experiances with the people I talk to there. Just take this as a bandage for me to get over the loss.

lol same place this time next year? I would be happy with that. I think everyone could agree that they would be happy with these two teams back in the finals next year.

Congrats to all the Red Wings fans on here. I was extremely happy to see your team win the cup. Partially because i am a hardcore Devils fan, and didn't want our division rival to end up with Lord Stanley, more importantly though, as i mentioned before, I really like Detroit's style of play and the players on the team. The team core is a very respectable bunch of individuals, its hard not to pull for them.

Not knocking you, just confused.. lol Sucks to see this thread go away, Its been fun to actually chat with people who know hockey... I'm in Georgia where hockey is about as popular as the WNBA.. Quick question for you hockey guys.. What the hell are "chances"???? They'd show in on NBC right after shots on goal... best I can think is some genius sits there and decides which shots actually had a chance to score.. been bugging the crap outta me.. anyone??

A scoring chance is when the official scorer believes a team had a quality scoring opportunity. A scoring chance need not result in a shot on goal, hence the two are mutually exclusive.

I was at the parade of champions in downtown Detroit this moring. It was hot and muggy, but worth it. There were about a million fans out, and I am not exaggerating. Woodward was CRAMMED all the way to the river. AWESOME.
