I think I've seen this a few times. They were starry-eyed. They'll be better next game, I think.

...........or not!

The pens need to do something different if they have any chance in this series. something other than cheap shots!

ok... as a very devoted Penguins fan... I will give my props to the Red Wings... they are beating the Pens... no... murdering the Pens... at every aspect of the game! What I thought would be a good series... well... doesn't look like much of one at all... the Pens didn't even register a shot until the second period! are the Wings even human???

Guess we will see what happens Wednesday...

I can't recall who made the quote, but I think it was Osgood, he said that the Pens simply have not seen a team that plays like they do. They don't dump the puck in like almost every eastern team. I'm sure they will learn to adjust to that style of play, its just a matter of if they will in time.

I do have to say that I have heard nothing but good things out of Pens fans who went to Detroit for the games. They say that Wings fans are as nice as you would expect out of something like this. Much better then New York, or that "other" PA team. I'd like to just say to Red Wings fans comming to Pitt. Sorry for the way we will treat you lol. We're not all like what you will find.

I duno about the Pens taking cheep shots either. The only really bad hit on a Wing (can't recall players name) was called clean by the player that got hit, he said he had his head down and shouldn't have. Also lets not overlook Osgood basically admitting to diving. Everyone does something a little questionable.

Only got to watch the 1st period (or most of it), but couldn't believe the Pens couldn't get a shot on goal.. Waiting to see how the Pens adjust and do on home ice... Def. didn't call 2 shutouts in a row.. Great day for Detroit, Pistons won too.. evening up there series with Boston. Just wish they'd stop playing there games at the same time/day!! Way to hungover to watch both games last night (had to tape the Wings)...

GO WINGS!! GO PISTONS!!!

Well, there were a LOT of cheap shots in that game. Both teams were guilty, but I'm afraid the Pens were moreso. Gary Roberts hits Franzen away from the puck, basically in the eye.

Franzen is like 7 feet tall. Roberts is not. In order to get his hand up that high, he had to mean it. The slough-footing has to stop, and the Pens do it CONSTANTLY. I'd rather have guys diving than have that kind of dirty bull****. I wish they'd suspend guys they catch doing it. Even on camera.

If you can't beat us clean, you can't beat us. It's a super-douche move to try and injure guys because you can't beat them. I think it comes from the coach and trickles down.

And in spite of all this, I'm sure the NHL doesn't want a sweep, so look for the referees to be calling the Wings for coming within three feet of Crosby (who is a great player) and Malkin (who is whiny little *****).

yes there were alot of cheap shots coming from both sides, and alot of oscars being handed out as well. I couldn't be happier right now. Myself living in Baton Rouge my whole life, we do not have any kind of hockey down here. But however after learning the sport as a teenager, i started following the wings every year. I still wear my
Stevie Y jersey for every game we get on tv. I would love to take Joe Louis arena one year to catch a game. Or take a trip to the Big House to catch my Wolverines slug it out. Good job guys.

I live about twenty minutes from the Joe (as I drive). If you're ever up this way, let me know.
