hot laps are the norm on ring-times. there were some of the porsches that ran with cheater slicks that previously held near record times....

the gt-r, and, afaik, the vettes are running street tires.

this fanboi for one has not been won over. the spec v will most likely be faster and cheaper than the zr-1 (and more daily drivable/comfortable/awd-able/have traction/etc)....

don't get me wrong, the zr-1 is fantastic, and it is great to see the manufacturers stepping up to the plate (toyota and mazda soon to follow suit?). only time will tell at this point, as the spec-v time is unofficial.
