Default Need a lil help

So i decieded to go to college and prob gonna start around fall would start now but still saving money and so on.Well here my situation i got a 94 Chrysler Le Baron like 7 months ago got it for free from the grandparents whoot whoot.Well it was running great and all but its started having some problems a while back but we fxed them, but im worried its gonna crap out on me in the future i expect the car to last me till im done with college, but i doubt its gonna last me that long.

Pretty much thinking about trading it in and gettin 03-05 civic. There is a great deal going on where the state of texas will give 3000 dollars for my car to help the enviorment and get a newer enviormental friendly car.If i get the car i will have to wait till spring to start school that way i can pay it off before this winter.

So im asking what would yall do go to school this fall with lebaron and hope it doesn't crap out or wait till spring and get the new civic.Im 19 live with my mom and brother gonna pay for school all on my own and have 7k saved so far. Thanks for the Comments in Advance

Just one word of advice: do not put your education on hold in order to pay off an automobile. What happens if you fail to pay the car off before you intend to start school?

Education, FTW.

First off, props to you for being responsible with your money, going to school, and paying your own way through school. I would base my answer on one thing: How far do you live from school? If you are close, I would say keep the chrysler. Run it until the wheels fall of. If it dies, you can ride a bike/take the bus/walk. If you live too far away for those to be options, then you may want to do the civic. In that case reliable transportation would be more critical since without a car you couldn't get to school.

Oh and BTW make your first two classes this fall english and typing.

Definitely apply for all the financial aid you can. That alone accounted for a huge chunk of my school costs since i came from a family that was going through hard times (pops died a week before i graduated high school)

Save your money for your education. You're investing in your future and with a good grade, you'll have a much higher earning capacity. Trust me, I'm an old fart.

i say you just keep the chrysler and run it til it can't be run anymore. no need to waste money right now if the car can still drive. like everyone else said, invest in your education.
