Last time I checked we were a capitalistic society not a socialist state. I bet you're gonna vote for O'Bahma also?
I don't want the gov't to touch the oil situation. Oh, and by and by, the democrat controlling congress makes laws!!

Your argument is pretty absurd. You don't think Bush/Cheney had a hand in the oil fiasco? Buddy, the Bush/Cheney administration have had their hands in the oil situation since they took office. Ever hear of the National Energy Policy and Cheney's energy task force? Especially when Cheney met with top oil executives (in secret I might add) in order to devise a national energy policy? I think you should go back to high school government class...

I think that your gov't class needs to add some information on capitalism and why we need to push these environment laws out the door and build more refineries. Secret meetings, hmmmmmm...

If they were so secret how come you know about them?

Its been stated before that oil will peak production sometime soon the slow down. and all this talk about bush/cheny does anyone really know whats going on sure it has some to do with it but not as much as everyone would like to say. All through out time house prices/gas/goods have doubled there price almost every 20 years. It just how our society works. Then some of the oil countries have more internal conflics then before.

With the oil companies making huge profits and us little guys taking it up the off ramp just shows that the little guy always gets the big screw.
Wow...interesting point of view, completely wrong but interesting. What they mean when they say non renewable resource, is the relative time it takes to create vs the human timeframe we are dealing with. Hydrocarbons (gas, oil, coal) take hundreds of thousands to millions of years to be produced by very slow burial of organic material and over that time preassure and heat turn this material into hydrocarbons. While this proces is still taking place today, because of its slow timeframe, it is a non renewable resource we are using it way too fast.

Also, the oil companies make huge profits simply based on supply demand. If you had a business and someone was willing to pay for what you were selling you would sell it as high as you could. if you don't want to get "screwed" then don't buy a 300hp car.....we all make choices.....I will never complain about gas prices as long as I'm driving an STI. I made the choice and I knew I wasn't buying the car for its fuel efficiency

If you read previous posts, you will see Bush's name come up a couple of times. That's why I posted that video.

It's my fault. Sorry guys. I caused all this...

Cereaously....

Who gives a rat's @ss. If we can afford to buy STIs we shouldn't be beeyotching about gas prices at all. It's the fools without any savings or planning that get wiped out during these times. It's called a correction...
