Now this says for a check in the mail. What about direct deposit? I was looking on the website and it said if you filed and used direct deposit for your taxes, the relief money will be direct deposited to your account as well. I couldnt find anything about dates on the website other than they will be starting in May.

Basic Information on the Stimulus Payments
Quote:
How will you receive the payment? Be sure to choose direct deposit when you file your tax return, even if you aren't due a regular tax refund on your tax return. That way, the stimulus payment will go right to your bank account. Otherwise, we'll mail you a check.
Stimulus Payments: Answers to Frequently Asked Questions
Quote:
Q. When will I receive my stimulus payment?
A. The Treasury Department will start sending out payments in early May.
Quote:
Q. Can I have my stimulus payment direct deposited?

A. Stimulus payments will be direct deposited for taxpayers who select that option when filing their 2007 tax returns. Taxpayers who already filed and requested direct deposit won't need to do anything else to receive the stimulus payment. Taxpayers who did not request direct deposit for their 2007 refund will receive a paper check by mail. The IRS reminds taxpayers who haven't filed their 2007 returns yet that direct deposit is the fastest way to get both regular refunds and stimulus payments.

I wish they'd just wrap it up into the tax process so I could claim it as a credit. It would make the check I have to write the IRS a bit smaller.

I filed my taxes through Turbo Tax and had Turbo Tax deposited my money into my account. I don't remember being asked if I wanted direct deposit or a check for this "refund" when I was filing? So since I had Turbo Tax just deposit my money into my account for my taxes then that means that this "refund" will be direct deposited?

00 FTW. July 23rd!

To add to the A.D.D going on here, I just found out there is a limit on income and I sold some options this year that messed that up - no rebate for me. That's fine I guess, I don't believe in government handouts, just lower taxes and smaller government for me please.

You have to make over 80K or something for this to happen, correct?

Y'all suck!

Filed so early that our rebate arrived before the end of Feb. Direct deposit. No word yet about the incentive. Now talk of an $80k limit for qualifying?

Fog lights with installation ~$550. Waiting and waiting and waiting...

How can all you poor people afford STi's unless you still live at home; sponging off Mommy and Daddy?

wtf, I was supposed to get mine last friday but still haven't got anything.

I tried calling and of course I get a message like "due to the increase in calls we are receiving, we are unable to take your call, please call back later.". And no, I don't make over 80k a year yet...

What do you guys think the deal is? The last 2 of my SS are 53 and I had my refund DD'ed...

^^Who did your taxes? If you used a 3rd party such as H&R Block and paid the filing fees with your refund, you'll receive a paper check. Even if you received your tax return DD.

Thanks for the info! I used Turbotax...

God damnit, not only did Turbo tax not save me any time or money (probably would have done it quicker by myself), but it also made my refund come a month+ later.

Unless you are really bad with numbers/math, don't use Turbo Tax....
