I wish I could get excited over this game. I can't because I know all their effort went towards visual eye candy instead of genuine simulator physics.

I don't have a PS3, and this game will not get me to buy one either. The game doesn't look all that great and since this is there flagship racing game, I believe that maybe Sony really has been focusing on the HD movie market a bit too much.

Its ok, Imo i give it a 6.8 out of 10. The graphics are killer and the controls are very precise but the cars are lacking the visual aspect when in actual game play. The replays are quite pretty to look at but then gets old real quick cause of the few camera angles. +1 for the online play,Just a few of my gripes

i have been playing on and off since it came out... i think i am pretty much done with the game. one gripe i have is having to race the same races you have already accomplished in order to obtain the $$ to buy a new car for a later race. this happened once for the A races.... amass enough $$ to buy a f430 so i can complete a race. now in the s races, i have to amass another 200K to buy the mine's... no thanks. i think i am finished playing, at least for awhile.

online is ok... there are the usual idiots who want to play bumper cars, but it isnt that bad. i just cant get into racing the same races (online or otherwise) over and over and OVER in order to get the proper amount of $$ to upgrade.

Technically you are correct since Sony is not the developer but Sony is however the publisher and owns the trademark. So I think my conclusion is still valid.

if you are to believe wikipedia.... Polyphony Digital - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

"Polyphony Digital Inc. is an internal video game developing company of Sony Computer Entertainment and is part of the newly formed Sony World Studios. The studio was formerly known as Polys Entertainment, but after the success of Gran Turismo they were granted greater autonomy and their name changed to Polyphony Digital."

The GT game series has been my favorite since I played GT on playstation. Even though Gran Turismo 5 isn't out yet, it's pretty much the reason why I bought a PS3. That being said, I'm trying to resist purchasing the GT5 prologue (I'd rather hold out for the full version). For people *****ing about the lack of content, it's a prologue, you should have done your research before buying the game. Besides, this game cost $20 less than your average 360/ps3 title and it still has more cars than most racing games.

I'm curious when people say the graphics while racing are worse than the replay, are you sure? Go to a third person view while racing and see if this still holds true. People said the same thing about GT4 and it just isn't true. It just looks better because your seeing different angles from outside the car during the replay. Whatch the replay with the same view while racing and you'll notice the graphics are the same.

Granted, I haven't played the game, but polyphony digital claims the gameplay runs at 1080p @ 60fps while the replays are 1080p @ 30fps. So if anything, the replays should have worse graphics than the gameplay. I have no info on framerates at lower resolutions.

yeah, i am pretty sure that i am done with this game. i have been reading on the gaming boards that you either have to online race to amass $$ in order to buy the necessary cars or find a race in the game and race it to death over and over. I get spanked online b/c i haven't amasses enough $$ to have a tuned car like others have and I have little interest in racing a challenge over and over just to amass $$.

time to move on to a game that is more enjoyable to play.

yeah, i LOVE racing a race 20+ times to amass $$ to move on.

if you find that process to be enjoyable, then you are a more patient person than I.
