Something is seriously wrong with that Z... a local buddy of mine just turbo'd his Z, granted he was running TT's (JWT 700 BB kit), and tuned, just put down 398whp uncorrected at 5200 ft altitude, on 91 octane and only 6.5psi of boost. I only mention uncorrected, as with a full NA correction factor up here (which should not apply to turbo cars), he put down 487whp. Take a look:
JWT 700BB Twin Turbo 350Z - Colorado Mazda Club

The guy also dyno'd stock, uncorrected, and overlayed his stock dyno pull, with his TT pull:

For reference, graph was posted over here, on page 3:

Granted his car was tuned, but still, 7psi in a Z should pull VERY hard on a VF34 powered WRX, especially from a roll... with no tuning, and results like that, I would almost tell your buddy in the Z to go get a compression test

Have you ran your WRX in the 1/4 mile? If so, what are your trap speeds?

DAMN! His stock numbers were LOW! I dynoed my Z shortly after buying it and it put down 248/243. Nice gain w/ the JW kit though! 398 @ 6.5 is nice!

Your talking about Robert. He did get a nice setup! I didn't realize at first. And your in Co. That elevation kills it!

That was uncorrected at 5200 ft altitude... altitude hurts NA cars in a BIG way up here, corrected, I think it was like 240whp... it's pretty sad, the local track up here (Bandimere Speedway 5800 ft ASL), stock Z's are lucky to run mid-low 15's. Typically, for an NA car up here, local dyno's use about a 1.25 correction factor, just to give you an idea of just how much power they lose up here... although, it's widely debated, but accepted, that a Naturally Aspirated correction factor at this altitude REALLY inflates horsepower numbers on a turbo car, as altitude increases, turbo cars usually only use about half the power NA cars use, which means a HUGE advantage to turbo cars up here.

Which is why he posted uncorrected numbers as well, to show how much more power his car makes up here. Typically, instead of using a 1.25 CF that they would use on NA cars, for turbo cars, local dyno's usually only use a 1.12-1.13 CF, to get more accurate numbers that they would put down at sea level... so with a turbo CF of let's say 1.12, his car actually should have put down around 445whp at sea level.

It's sad, up here if you own an NA car, prepare to get raped by turbo cars on a consistent basis. I used to own a '03 350Z, it had a few bolt-ons (pulley, 5/16th plenum spacer, JWT popcharger, test pipes & Nismo cat-back) at sea level, where I bought it, while stationed at Ft Hood, TX (while still in the Army), I could easily keep up (if not pull) with my buddy's stock '04 STI.... then I moved up here after getting out of the Army... talk about depressing The car lost so much power up here, it was depressing... it went from sea level, where it could hang with STI's, to I ran a stock Legacy GT from a roll, and couldn't pull an inch... very sad.

To other STI owners, want to know how to make your stock STI hang with LS1 powered F-bodies from a roll? Move to Colorado lol.
