Crappy video and someone needs to tell this guy that Corvette is not a manufacturer like Ferrari. It should be "Chevrolet or Ferrari?"

Honestly, if I could keep the extra $$$, I'd choose the Z06. Ferraris have never "done it" for more me. They are beautiful machines no doubt but they have a real snobbishness-factor that just oozes from every panel. Even though Porsches have a certain "prestige" to them, I still think of them as the Everyman's type of car. You can still be Joe-blow and own a Porsche. As for the Z06, it is just ridiculous for what it costs...regardless of the faulty roof issues.

The only reason they did that was because the first run of Z06s had faulty roofs that came off by themselves. If anything, taking it off was probably the smartest thing so that it didn't fly off while they were driving.

if porsche's are everyman's car, what are corvettes? lol ....i see like 8 corvettes a day nowadays. if anything, the corvette is the budget sports car - best bang for the buck (after the sti of course)...not saying its not a beastly machine or anything, just playing with your logic

the way the roofs are designed on the vettes help keep the car glued to the ground and tracking straight at high speeds. i wouldnt have done that.

He didn't have a choice. The early model C6 Z06s had faulty roofs that came off while driving. If he didn't take it off there, it might have come off while driving at hit someone behind him.

Haha. No what I mean is that, ignoring cost for the moment, a Porsche doesn't come off as being snobby, at least not where I live. Most of the Porsche owners I've met are pretty down to earth too.

I certainly don't consider a 'vette an exotic or dreamcar by any means. As you said, the 'vette is like the STi when compared to exotics; it can kick some serious butt for half or one-third the cost of comparitive exotics.

If Chevrolet would only lose that American interior (I know that sounds silly) and try and mimic Euro or Japanese styling, it would probably be close to the perfect car.

My dream car is a Porsche 997 GT3 in white. Unless I win the lottery though, I think I'll have to settle for a Z06.

my buddy, james giles(simpsonville, sc) has one(gt3) and races it at road atlanta. and yeah i've been in it and yeah i've actually driven it. MAGICAL is te only word to describe it. it is red white and blue and was #30 of 30 that they brought into the country last year!
