It brings new meaning to the term "engine management".

I'm not watching the video. But if it is a current F1 car, no turbos.

Turbos were outlawed on F1 cars years ago. Those mufflers are glowing, much like a blow torch (cutting torch). I still cannot fathom the horsepower these engineers get out of super small V10's. The technology involved is staggering.

Crazy idle.

Don't forget these engines rev to like 15,000 RPM's or there abouts....

bmw has an f1 motor that tops at 19600rpm. idles at 4500rpm. the valves for some time were operated by pneumatics. now it is electric soliniods. i guess bump sticks and push rods are a bit ancient...

Valvetrains will eventually be electronic. And then alternative fuel, zero emissions, etc. The head of an engine will eventually consist of solenoids and the ecu will have even more capacity to control engine dynamics. Cams and valvesprings will be reflected on by our kid's as "old school".

Or maybe not.

All F1engines are now limited to 2.4l 90degree V8's, no mufflers, just straight-thru exhaust pipes. I think the 2007 rules limit them to only 19000rpm

I cannot fathom how the balding fellow on the left manages not to stick his fingers in his ears thru the whole performance. Must be immune to noise or something...
