IWSTI Addict since: Apr 2006 | Fine it was 4th gear then, I never pinned out a customers car in 3rd gear so I'll admit I was wrong there and she had to hit 4th (still one less shift) either way it ran a 13.1 with drag radials. As for the mechanic story that sucks to hear. But isnt that like saying you had a bad run in with a cop so they all suck. You make a pretty sweeping generalization on mechanics based on one moron. There will inevitably be at least a few morons in any trade. My point is that as a DODGE mechanic I got to drive them so I know what they feel like whereas most people who bash them have never driven one. As for the turbo and SC if you want to split hairs fine. And thank you yes I know there is a turbo version of the cobalt now just like the mini cooper S. |

IWSTI Addict since: Dec 2009 | LOL, wow.. Epic. UM.. I owned An SRT-4 I put 300 to the wheels, I had a HELL of a time getting 12.7's on slicks. Magic Srt-4? maybe.. But its the only one. My best stock, fair weather run was 13.8 And yes, I can drive. And just so you know, It took full exhaust, intake, greddy E-01, e-manage piggy back, dyno tuning, Big Fmic, etc, etc. To get 300 out of the stock turbo. |

IWSTI Addict since: Apr 2006 | Track? temps? tires? Geez tough crowd. 13.8 is great stock add in a fast track cold weather and slicks and low gas with no spare or jack etc and 13.1 is not hard to believe. You guys make it seem like I said the the car went down the track at warp speed or something. Lets try and keep it civil, posts like "you're an *** hole" and "you're full of ****" dont really help. If you dont believe me fine, i prolly wouldnt believe it either unless I saw it lets just leave it at that. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IdYw6CdqS1w Last edited by Boston STI; 02-08-2010 at 03:15 PM.. |

IWSTI Addict since: Dec 2009 | another one swore by his life that the duramax came out in 99 for 2500's and that he had all data so he was right. are we supposed to believe a spare tire and jack weigh enough to make a difference greater that even a tenth (which is hard to believe). and about a 11 second stock turbo sti, they are tunned with a lot of race gas and a stage 3 srt4 has 355bhp, and people review it to be in the mid 12's with 125 more hp at the crank than stock You want more numbers? Try 0 to 60 mph in about five seconds flat and the quarter-mile in the mid-12s at more than 110 mph Dodge Neon SRT4 Stage 3 - Road Test & Review - Automobile Magazine Quote:

IWSTI Addict since: Nov 2008 | low gas is no big thing in an SRT-4, they have like a 10 gallon gas tank (all my friends that owned them *****ed about that all the time) running without the jack and spare and with 2 gallons in the tank is cutting 125 lb at best. I don't know how else to explain it, I've been in a few SRT-4's, there is no way on any track, with any tires that a stock SRT-4 (other then the tires) could run 13.1, they simply don't trap fast enough to do it (I keep seeing 103 mph for a stock SRT-4, yes I do some quick research before I start pulling numbers out of my ***) If you were so up on things with drag times you should have known better then to claim it finished the 1/4 at the top of 3rd, seriously man. but I will say the SRT-4 insanely quick for such a cheap car, but thats just it, its quick in stock form for 21k, and their easily cranked up, but look at the ones in the vid you posted, with drag radials their running low 12's at ~125 mph, how is that car going to run 13.1 trapping ~103, easy answer is its not |

ALL NEONS SUCK!!! It's true, no matter how you sugarcoat it. *edit* Also, this guy is not "brilliant". He's exactly the same mouth-breathing retard we normally associate with Neon drivers. Case in point, look at where he's trying to do said burnout, doesn't look anything like a "closed track" to me. Last edited by BluSTi; 02-09-2010 at 11:21 AM..

I didn't say I agreed with his choice of venue. I have wrenched with him and he is quite good with cars and very inventive. The changes he made to my ACR after I sold it to him were tasteful and focused. Not rice. And haha at all Neons suck. They are a great autocross car and have a capable chassis. (Though they are death traps on any public road I tell yah!!!) I loved my car for 5 years of fun modding and commuting. 30mpg, -HP, and it was a blast in the hills. Anyway, yeah...by by ACR. I love my STI SO much more.
