Default Re: ZR1 vs GTR at the 'Ring - side by side compare

The GTR should be compared to the Z06 and the GTR V-SPEC should be compared to the ZR1. Its still shows the different approach american cars take vs. euro/japanese cars. The Vette uses brute strength but the GTR uses suspension/braking/power/technology. I am still amazed on how the GTR could create such fast lap times with it being so heavy. The ZR1 is a great car but I would take the GTR.

They are both street legal cars that you can (theoretically) buy at your local dealer for less money than a 911 turbo. That is how you can compare them. Oh, don't forget the 'Vette has two less drive wheels and and one less power adder than the GT-R. And the price of the V-spec hasn't been announced yet, but I'm sure it will be a good bit more than the regular GT-R.

Agreed, I hate that cover.

Agree on both counts. Take a look at the power to weight ratio of the top Ring finishers. That GT-R must be under rated.

The GTR is under rated. Someone told me that it dyno's close to as much power as it's suppose to be rated at the flywheel.
