I agree with you. It takes a lot more than most think to make a car go from a top speed of 198 MPH to a top speed of 205 (207) MPH. It's not just about power, it's about aerodynamics and gearing as well.

There will be no doubt that this car will go faster than the ZO6 in every aspect, or at least it should.
Keep in mind that the ZR1 will no longer use 6th gear for an overdrive gear, so it's totally geared differently.

GM has really improved the Vette lately. I have no idea why they haven't advertized their American Lemans wins, the Corvette team has dominated the GT1 field. The Vettes destroyed the Vipers on the track, even the Austin Martin teams couldn't keep up.

The only way I think the Vette could completely destroy the competition would be for them to move to the all wheel drive Haldex 4 system. This would put them on the same level as the Porsche Turbo.

I have been waiting for the corvette to offer an AWD model. I brought it up on the corvette forums and most people don't like the idea. Really the only people that did were the people with pretty high horsepower cars like mine.

Despite the extensive use of carbon, the ZR1 is heavier than the Z06. Mainly because it has a blower added. But also the shocks are heavier and probably the wheels as well.

Also I would bet that is the new ZR1...the top speed in the C6 ZO6 is 192mi/hr...IIRC...

Well it is impressive for a full factory car with warranty . But take a standard C6 or C6 Z06 and add a supercharger and voila instant ZR-1 power but much less money to make the power but yes you lose the factory warranty.

Some how I do not see the STi aerodynamics allowing it to hit 200MPH. Unless you strap a couple booster rockets on it to get started.

It is possible, Believe me. Boostinscooby has hit over 315kmph with me in the car. And mine will hit 285kmph with a stock SB no problem.
