I've seen the trunk space of a Evolution X. Not so great compared to my current STi. Am I elitist, no. I wonder how long the companies will take to get products for the new engine done.

Did you notice how heavy the trunk was? First time I opened the trunk up I was like holy crap no wonder the X weighs so much more.

The trunk is crazy small; I think that's where they gained the extra rear seat space.

A few Mitsu dealers in Cali are selling the new Evo w/ no options for 30k. Invoice on them is like 31.5k or so.

Vishnu put the Rota Boosts on there. The Stock Evo X rims are made by Enkei, and the MR has BBSes.

Yea it is pretty sad how small the trunk in the Evo is. That's what you get when you push the seat back and relocate the battery and window washer fluid to the trunk.

I have yet to see one in person but I do want the new Evo and I'm worried about not having trunk space again.

I respect people's opinions but not when they're unfounded and based on hearsay. It would be nice if people actually educated themselves and/or had experience on the subject before posting. THis goes for the whole forum.

You couldnt put Jimmy Hoffa in the trunk of an evo. Sure it responds to mods very well and handles like no tomarrow, but it has to because its over weight. I think the subaru final drive is 3:9-1 and the evo is 4:9-1. I have seen some videos that show pro drivers prefer the STI over the evo and the STI was faster around their course. Then again I have seen vids that say the evo is king, but it all comes down to your own opinion.

I'm bummed that they featured the Evo w/a piggyback ecu but didn't give any nod to the STI w/AP, which sounds like a much better solution than Vishnu's. Granted, the 08 STIs aren't gaining 100hp w/just an ecu reflash but it'd be interesting to see what the car mags think of a lightly modded STi too.

Buddy of mine has a Evo IX. He takes care of it, he's a car nut like me.

I have a 05 STi. I take care of it, i'm a car nut.

We go to Orlando speedway. I do multiple LC full bore AWD launches and have fun.

He does his third launch ever since having the car, after we lecture him on how to launch (slipping the clutch, blip the gas...)

Shortly after on the drive home, he broke his transfer case.

Having said that, I really like the Evo seats. His has leather, are light years ahead of the STi seats.

Sounds like he didn't quite understand the concept lol.

It has 100 more horsepower but it still only manages a 12.7 in the quarter mile.

You're only about $1200 away from Evo seats, eBay is your friend.

That's what I don't get either. 12.7 @ 109mph? That's within the range of a well tuned stage 2 STI of any year. Hell, those two AMR STIs were running into the mid-12s @ 108 and 114. One just had a reflash and one had a tune+CAI+DP+100oct.

I think the Evo IX was much more impressive with being able to hit 11s with relatively few mods. Still, the Evo X isn't a bad car at all...just not my taste.

Evo's have always been mod friendly cars..... I bet someone with the same setup as the edmunds car has will hit low 12's or maybe high 11's. From reading around, it sounds like the gearbox's are better now to. I respect both evo's and sti's.... its more of a brotherhood IMO.
