This really pisses me off but at the same time I'm not at all surprised by it.

Well I have had people fake about being in situations such as that guy in the wheelchair. I had a woman, who wasnt pregnant but was just fat, fake as if she were going into labor to get out of going to jail. Apparently she did this once before and was brought to the hospital where she escaped. Anyhow long story short, she didn't get to go to the hospital but went right to jail. I do think that was very inappropriate and unprofessional and if she thought that he was faking, it could have been handled very differently.

On a side note, I have also worked in the prisons in New Orleans and have seen much worse than that. I have also worked with alot of those kinds of deputies also and they carry their miserable existance into work where they try to make everyone else just as miserable.

If they can do that to somebody, imagine the other things that they are doing that wasn't caught on tape. Disgusting.

I agree, but this is minor in comparison as to what I have seen in my career span

i read about this in the paper yesterday. the prisoner isn't innocent btw. he's a parole violator. not that that makes it ok but rarely does a snippet of a security video with no audio tell the whole story. it's excessive yes but notice the cop searching him at the end.

technically he's not a quadriplegic either. he has limited use of his arms.

I never assumed he was innocent, you don't get taken to jail for nothing, I was just amazed at how poorly the situation was handled.

Why wasn't she arrested for assault? Cops aren't above the law right?

Read about it, a person can still have some use of their arms and upper body and still be considered a quadriplegic.
