now, THAT is an apology. it's amg's to accept or not, but i consider the issue settled.

btw, unless i'm missing something, amg has never been in favor of street racing. i'm not sure how you interpreted his statement as promoting or condoning it. i think you definately jumped into the wrong man's butt.

i dont think ANY butt of any sti owner favors street racing in the first place. let alone deserving this kind of attitude/perception by the police and abuse on us daily for small BS which they should be out there with time and knowledge to consider looking for others instead who are actually posing unsafely. we're totally in a different class from the honda ricers but even our mistuishi rival guys who are actually all immature compared to us.

the sti and its owner are a special kind of mature breed (as a highly import image status for subaru) respecting and appreciating the art of the machine itself and its control by the driver. but if you are one of those giving STI a really bad name (especialy in street racing) which may lead to an officer holding a grudge on all of us and therefore ruining it for all of us, then you are just merely lucky to be having your hands on one which will all change for you soon.

lastly, i should have EVERY right to mod my car the way i want to without causing any harmful effects to the environment (and obviously the general public). I BOUGHT IT and IT'S MINE! an officer should have no right to pop my hood and say, "all this is too powerful for this kind of car" > I KNOW my boundaries before i actually install any of my mods by researching and reading up on my iwsti threads!! done done and doonnneee

Cops in NY don't do that or I haven't seen peoples hoods being checked then again I don't know many people with modded hondas around here anymore.

I accept the apology and consider the issue over as well...

But just for the record, Bruce is right - I never said anything in support of street racing. In fact, I consider myself one of the most level headed people in my area...I constantly get challenges at my high school, and quickly and rudely turn them down because it is something to look down upon - it splits families, kills innocent people, and is unlawful - there is no point...

So I guess Black_sun misunderstood the nature of my post.. I was just a little surprised that it was a cop who was telling me off on here when I am a paying member of the 11-99 foundation in Cali because I respect officers..

So a word to the wise, just be careful to jump on people's statements when you don't know them or what they stand for or else you will be jumped on 10x harder...

I dunno, just my opinion but I think if nobody here raced (even the slightest bit) on the streets then nobody here would be driving their car as a daily...Yep. I said it, and its true. I go to the track pretty often, but Im willing to bet most of the people on the forums havnt been. No need to chime in track addicts, I know who you guys are.

i couldnt agree more with amg or jedi. everyone has screwed off or pushed the speed limit above and beyond. i think the whole organized street racing is what really brings down the image of our cars or the modding community as a whole.

that video reminds me just how big an ego most cops develop over time. yeah the kid was not addressing him properly but that deserves no physical outburst. i have experienced the same sort of behavior over my car minus the actual "assault." i believe in enforcement and safety but there is a boundary where the innocent should not be punished for others. having had multiple stops all without penalty i am here to say each cop deals with it in their own manner. i had one cop force me to sit on the front bumper of his car while he searched my engine bay. this was after he believed i was lying to him saying i had no engine modifications. of course once he realized he was wrong i received no apology but instead he went on telling me how reckless i was being after the initial stop was because my catback shows intent to mod. some people just cant man up and admit they are wrong but after wasting 30 minutes of my time i really didnt care what he said because by this time i had lost faith in OC sheriff. i love what cops do... i dont like how they do it.

Your so right but I don't really race with anyone anymore I just go over 100 when no one is around like at 3am in the morning but for a daily driver having 300+ hp comes in handy overtaking people

ATTN MODS: this thread has gone completely off topic now so can we please lock it. the only thing it's doing now is bringing down IWSTI's reputation IMHO...
