This sort of response would be more appropriate on NABISCO.
You my friend are not the norm. I've gotten out of tickets by telling the officer that my A/C condenser was my smog pump (5.0 Mustang). There was an article in the local paper about a guy getting his car impounded for an illegal hood when it was OEM (paint & all) = ticket thrown out.
I think pretty much every post in this thread has condemned street racing.

Your right..... I shouldnt have gone that far... I have a real passion when it comes to the whole street racing thing. Its a real problem here in AZ, and I'm tired of having to look into the eyes of a mother and say your son/daughter is dead... Guess I should have kept my true feelings out of my post.... Please exuse my anger....

our cops are becoming very well educated. example: last time i was pulled over i began asking the cop questions to see how much they really knew. he said the most common mods they are after on subarus is upgraded turbos, DPs and meth injection. when he said meth injection i about wet myself since i figured they would not know how to identify the pieces. SoCal is slowly becoming a horrible place to even own a car period. being pulled over for driving one with a factory wing is punishment enough.

grew up in SC and actually have seen you down there but now im living in laguna hills on the nellie hill. cop got me at the corner of la paz and cabot. OC sheriff. i asked about classes and he says they require education on car modification. they are getting smarter but still targeting the wrong people. i dont care to street race and would prefer less heat... wingless i will go.

Stupid ricers...like someone else said, they do give imports a bad name.

I don't think I saw a single honda in that vid that didn't have rice written all over it.

Is street racing still that big in other places? I really don't see a lot of it out our way. That or I'm just getting old and don't socialize as much as I used to...

Tony - there was a huge bust here in Norfolk about a year or so ago. A few years prior, I saw about half a dozen cars wreck due to some ricers driving like morons on the highway. People use to try and "race" me all the time, but in the last year or so that type of behavior has really died off.

When I lived in Groton, CT about 5 years ago it was pretty bad there. There was a rumor (probably fact) that the cops had a "Civic with a Spoon engine" that they used on sting operations.

How are the supposed to be able to find meth running in your car. unless someone has the tank and pump mounted in plain sight. same with the turbo can they really tell the difference between factory and a 20g under a heatshield.

well if he was dumb enough to tell me just how much they know he shouldnt be a cop. that would only lead to products being rebadged to hide them. he did however say that if the car appeared to have any modification whatsoever within the area of the turbo or intake manifold they will ref you. of course you can always return to stock for this but the work to do this and the hassle isnt worth it.
