After rattling the windows of the house from 100 yards I decided gas was way to dangerous to start fires. I use charcoal lighter fluid now, havent singed an eyebrow since.

We use gas out at my camp, but I light it by chucking a road flare at it or even better shooting it with the flare gun out of the boat. Not to safe I admit but damn fun.
