signing ticket only means you will be there for court hearing. it doesn't mean you are guilty or not guilty. and it does say you will be arrested if you don't sign it. so if he really wanted to fight for it, he can do it at the court.

if a suspect does not follow what officer had told, officer has the right to use any force necessary. And its clear that the guy didn't do what he was told

Agreed. I know they are in Utah and one is arrested for not signing the ticket....it is not an admission of guilt.

The guy freakn resisted arrest, violent or not, it does indeed seem VERY dangerous to any cop. That was freakn retarded on his part. Just thank god they have tasers now.

funny isn't it? notice how it's called "less" and not "non lethal" that's cause people get killed by these things, i just saw on the news last week were they used a stun gun on some dude at the airport and he died, how big of a jacka$$ would that cop be if that guy died over a speeding ticket, there is such thing as too far, this video represents it

OMG!!! I cannot believe the responses in this thread. The driver broke the law. He then REFUSED to sign the ticket (in Utah, no sign, GO TO JAIL. Period). The officer then had him step out o the vehicle and attempted to place him under arrest. The driver RESISTED ARREST. The Police Officer, after dealing with a resistive driver from the moment he approched the vehicle, tased the idiot. Why you ask? BECAUSE THE DRIVER WAS OUT OF CONTROL. Refusing to follow directions, challenging the officer, basically being an A$$hat. The driver kept spouting out his version of the law, which was incorrect BTW. Could the officer have handled it differently? Yes, he could of. However, I was not there on the side of the road, ALONE, trying to deal with a resistive person. The Officer responded within the boundries of his authority and the law.


Oh, and if they sued, they would lose.

Sorry but that guy got tazed for the right reasons. That cop did exactly what he should have. I would have done the same damn thing. Kid should consider himself lucky that he didn't pull his gun. The guy was being confrontational including getting too close to the cop, walking towards him, past him and away from him. Judging by the guys age and mannerisms he fits the profile for someone who might be tempted to take a swipe at the cop. You do what the cops say and that's that.

OMG!!!! You must be a cop or in the family of some cops. Either way, stop crying like a little girl. What an ass backwards law that requires you to go to jail for not signing a friggin ticket. I wonder if the people of Utah got to vote on that one?? The cop used excessive force, PERIOD. There was no need to taser that man. I am sick and tired of hearing about corrupt, ***** cops that that use their badge, gun, tasers and mace to drop people that are not being violent.

I wouldn't even try to sue that pig. When all was said and done, I'd show up at his doorstep and see how he like being "subdued" in front of his family.
