Awesome write up on the WR1 in UK Car Magazine (personally my favorite auto mag in the world). WR1 doesn't seem majorly different from the USDM STI in performance numbers.

Bear in mind the UK STI is 260hp, 2 litre and no DCCD. WR1 has 310 ft/lbs torque and 315bhp. Rides on 18inch rims and 25mm lower Prodrive springs. Quoted a 4.25 0-60 time.

Best quote from the article is "If I'm ever in a race with the devil on a road I don't know, then I'll hope to be in this very car."

I think I'll be ordering me a UTEC, some Prodrive springs and 18 inch rims tomorrow!!!

I have some contacts in the business in the UK looking into it right now for me. Thought I liked the BBS REs until I saw them on a car in real life. They photo better than they look I think. Those ProDrives are nice. Anyone know the weight? I'm still trying to decide on the rims at the moment. Want to get something a little different from everything I'm seeing heres. I kind of like the Enkei NT03+M.

Should pick up the latest issue of EVO mag then (my personal favorite). They compared the WR1 to the Type25, SpecC, and P1 and named the T25 the best Impreza ever.

T25, as the name implies, is the 2.5-liter and is even more similar to the USDM STi power plant. The only difference from what I can gather is that the T25 has the twin scroll turbo. The power output is 350hp…something that can be easily extracted out of our USDM with tuning.

Of course, the main difference between the USDM STi and the T25 lies in the suspension setup. Based on the article and what little information was available, it appears that they replicated some suspension bits from the SpecC. But the key is that they did NOT use a SpecC and dropped a 2.5 in; rather, they just used a regular decked out STi and changed some of the suspension parts, braces, sways, etc.... For me, the trick is to find out what it is that they’ve changed. Hopefully the aftermarket will step up in due time…

BTW: I don’t think that the T25 was officially built and marketed by Subaru…(please correct me on this if I’m wrong.)

Edit: Here's a bit more info on it...

Suspension is quite different. The suspension is composed of 8-way adjustable dampers. As for the previous poster's question, they used the Spec C geometry so the Type 25's wheelbase is 100 inches as oppose to the regular 99.4 inches.
