Gross tailights and grill reminds me of a Chrysler. Subaru needs to stop copying other company's grill designs.

IB the move..

But the first thing to do is take a hacksaw to the grill.. I really like the hoodscoop. It's not terrible, but still not my thing.

Well wow, I am officially disappointed. Glad I bought my 07 but I was hoping the 08 would be more aggressive. The overall design looks “cheap” I do like the interior though. Looks like they used some better quality materials. Maybe they’ll eventually offer a sedan version of the WRX and STi as I heard the base Impreza will be a sedan.

Default awful

That is truly awful looking. It might be a great car in all other ways but it looks are the worst. Most imprezzas were never really pretty but had some kind of a look. That is not only ugly but bland.

I dont think this one will "grow" on people like some of the other designs.

Maybe when they STi it up, it will look cool.

The STi version better have some major advantages over the EVO X to compete in my opinion.

I do like the interior and the front end (minus the grille, but that can easily be addressed. BUT, I have a serious problem with the whole wagon look, and Toyota Prius tail lights designed by a crackhead.

nice interior - nice steering mounted controls, and is that nav and leather i see?
tail lights are ugly - don't tell me that is the only design they could come up with. if i wanted the hybrid / alteeza look, i would buy them from ebay
headlights - i like that most of it is blacked out. when is the DOT going to realize that amber is ugly - as long as we see the turning lights blinking we will know they are turning. I guess that is what Lightwerkz was put on this earth for!
ugly front grille - it looks like a domestic, the 06 grew on me - don't think this one will
engine - looks the same, intercooler looks smaller and battery sits at an angle, not much to say about this, i like the blacked out look, but this isn't the STI
exterior - it has a few nice lines, but that antenna is so ugly. We can put a man on the moon, but we can't seamlessly integrate an antenna into a car?

overall: not impressed (yet), it better have some nice performance numbers to compete and altogether looks like a suzuki aerio (sp?)

I still have a hard time believing that subaru doesn't have a sedan version of the 08 impreza. Only 5 days left for the truth. Im very anxious to see what truly happens

I've been holding back, but with the very official looking R&T photos I'm ready to pronounce my opinion.

Ugh.

Bleagh.

Yeccch.

Too bad, too. I'd really love to see a truly hot hatch from Subaru.
