Default What will be Subaru's 50th Anniversary car?

In my opinion the current '07 STI limited is just the beginning of what is going to a long run of special run cars...a think a very very special one is right around the corner for us. Lets think about this:

400 examples of the 22B Impreza were built in 1998 to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Subaru manufacturing cars. that said, 2008 will be the 50th anniversary. This is a huge milestone. Its safe to say there will be at least 500 examples built, it'll have to up the ante of the EVO X power-wise (approx. 320hp, 325lb-ft). This should be a dream STi,

My Dream: an STi Sedan or Coupe, 6spd manual, At least 350Hp, at least 330 lb-ft, Direct injection, Variable valve timing, Twin scroll, boxer 4 (I'd take a 6 too), front mount intercooler, switchable engine mapping, DCCD, Auto intercooler spray, Supportive seats, split folding rear seats, a 52mm boost gauge integrated into the dash somewhere, steering with 2.6 turns lock to lock (max), stock alignment (or adjustment) that isn't for grandma's, everything else should fall into place.

EDIT: Countdown to the NEW LEGEND! http://www.subaru.com/sub/misc/2008/...own/index.html

What are your predictions?

Hmmmmm.....very interesting. My guess would be a unique color with some sort of BBS or Enkei wheel with a limited production of 500. I wish SOA would do something more "special", but I doubt it.

Another 22B type car would be awsome, If it's not crazy then I wouldn't even consider getting ride of my 05'

Of course if they do make a limited production type 22B then I guess I wont be getting the M5 I have been looking for.

Hopefully another STi in 22B coupe like form.

I don't know if Subaru has promised us something for a 50th anniversary, but I would like to see various body styles for the next gen STi. Wagon/Sedan/2 door HB/coupe are all fine with me

How about a two-door, Recaro seats, and 400 horsepower.

Or they could just bring the S204 over here and call it good.

I think if you give the 22b treatment to the new car, in 4 door form, that would be perfect. Hmm... 2.5L twin scroll, 6pot front, 4 pot rear from RA-R, seam welded body, cf front and rear widebody fenders, aluminum decklid, strut braces from s204, cf seats, all black interior, alacantara seats, spec c water spray, jdm bigger top mount intercooler etc. Oh, and the best part- sell it in the US! I'll trade in my LTD for that!

I think this has a good chance of happening! This is basically in their parts bin now. Time will tell.

The problem is that 2008 is the anniversary, so it would be the new model.
