I don’t think road and track even thought the Sti would win. I had thought that their review they put up on it compared to the other 4 was by far the worst saying less then flattering things about it. I have found that people of all car makes like the Sti (aka ricers and muscle car guys all alike). Ive had 60 year old guys follow me to gas stations and want to talk about the car. I admit that I got more attention in my S2000, but it was all young people (muscle car guys hate it). The Sti gains attention from a lot larger audience. Its kind of weird. I think the Torque talks to one crowd and the hp talks to another.

It’s a car that you go to forums such as Car & Driver that are completely biased towards “their” type of car and endlessly rag on the other only to get everyone saying good things about the Sti.

Ha ha. I am a printer by trade, but I just received my copy in the mail yesterday. I live in the middle of the US so go figure on why I had the info first.

I was in a hot tub and just flipping the pages and when I saw the STi as the winner. I jumped out of the tub, took a picture and posted it. You can see my wet thumb print on the bottom of the photo{he he}.

Wait till I show this to all my "non-driver" friends (and wife ) they all said I was crazy! I can't think of anything good to say - too excited - I don't watch superbowl on tv but now I understand why those guys wanna get in there cars afterwards and drive around blowing their horns and shouting "We are #1!!!".
Anyone wanna come with?

When I watched the comparo on Speed I noticed that the STi generated the most smiles, positive comments(Leno's "ugly" comment aside). I kinda thought it would win but whenever Porshe's in the mix..you never know, it always gets the "dream" votes.

Great news!

I'm glad the STi won, surprised I was quoted. I can now tell the kids dad's been published.
