Lightbulb Is the 07 STI Limited suspension really going to be different????

price on limited STI edition

Reading through ^^ one of the sub topics was the possibility that the limited edition STI is going to be using the standard UK Spec STI suspension rather than the current USDM Spec-C based setup and I wanted to know more about this as that would make me not so interested...

I like the limited STI since I have read so much about cop/ricer abuse that I want to enjoy the car to myself without having the world watching

As far as the struts/springs I don't know. I did read when they first announced the LTD that it will come with the standard Impreza/WRX wheelbase instead of the Spec-C one our normal STI comes with. I don't know if that is only decided by the control arms or not though.

If so I expect you will have no problem getting someone to swap with you. Lots of people willing to get rid of the bobble-head struts.

Even if you don't trade you can find takeoffs for dirt cheap; no market for them since they don't fit anything else.

From my understanding, it is going to have a slightly softer suspension compared to the current US Sti. Softer springs in the rear I beleive.

i don't like the sounds of that, but again haven't seen anything concrete that it will in fact be different.

If i were to go the 06 route, can the roof spoiler be removed or are there holes in the body?

I saw a hot 05 grey wingless with i believe work emotions (black) on here a while ago (can't find the pic) and that is the look i wanna get

Looking at wd's thread below this one about the facts on the LTD, it is confirmed that it will have the non Spec-C wheelbase(99.4"). Not too big of a deal though as every other STI outside of the US comes with it.

Sorry, the Spec-C and the USDM non-LTD STI are the only Imprezas that come with the 100" wheelbase.

It is bolted to the C Pillar from the inside so you will have to will the two holes once you remove it.

I have a copy of the 2007 Impreza service manuals.

It lists all Impreza models as having a wheel base of 99.4 inches. This includes the standard STI. I can capture the image of the page and post it if anyone wants.

So it looks like even the standard STI gets a downgrade. No getting around it.

if this is true the STI has made significant changes to chassis and body every year of it's production. Wow. that's a lot of change.
