They really like the improvements to the WRX for this year - maybe I should have tried one before I got my STI but now it's too late 'cause I love my STI!

This is the second article I've seen that references body structure improvements for 2006. Does anyone know what they actually did for 2006 to make the platform stronger?

Standard features include upscale bits like ... auto-off headlights ...

Having the headlight circuit turn on and off with the key, something Subarus have done since, well, since forever, is now an "upscale" feature! Well whaddaya know.

There's not much difference between the STi and some race cars, except that the STi has no roll cage and all its lights work. It's should therefore be no surprise that the STi is at its best on a track. On the road, its extra firm ride has its drawbacks. Even on relatively smooth pavement, the STi can feel like it's bouncing an inch or two every ten feet. We love it, at least part time, but we're not sure our tastes are shared by every buyer. We wouldn't recommend this Impreza to anyone but a committed driving enthusiast who bides his or her time during the week in anticipation of the next track day. The standard WRX has nearly all the capability most of us will ever use on the street, with less noise, less vibration and more comfort.

This is a great paragraph, and definitely goes to the heart of the changes in the Impreza line for 2006. The WRX line is where the big changes were made, and it is a much better car for those changes.

MY girlfriend has a new 06 wrx and I just have to say that this car is a blast! The changes from the older wrx's are just increadable. You can just feel the upgrade on handling, braking and the lower end power with the larger engine. If you see a used WRX for $20K, just go pay the 2K more and get yourself a TR (Tuner Ready). You get a brand new car for the price of a used one. A must!
