It's our stock alignment. Try setting the POSITIVE camber in the front to a -2.0 or -2.5, 0 toe, 0 cross camber, then watch it post the same times in the solom. We got a bad alignment from the factory, period.

Nail on the head right there...

I have driven both cars, honestly IMO it just comes down the personal preference, in my opinion both cars are near identical as far as performance goes... I personally chose the STI because I thought it looked better, and I absolutely hate Mitsu****si

The EVO 9 is awesome. Can't take that away from it.
With that said, my '06 STI is the ONLY reason I don't own one.

A lot of people forget that the STI needs to improve at a rate directly proportional to the EVO each year, which it has(I know- I used to own an '04), although magazine numbers alone don't always make it apparent.

so what does that mean? Did they do a software upgrade or just pull a fuse? Either way i'm surprised in an unbiased review they can justify modifying or tuning one car.
Regardless, i think if you are doing a review, you review the car comparing apples to apples, stock to stock. You can't prep one and then say it's a better car because it beat a stock car.

My 05 has a 5000 limiter when the clutch is in... thing is, the car is ON 10LBS OF BOOST while it bounces off that 5k mark. Launching while on boost is obviously going to be a hard launch. I think Mistu screwed themselvs there, HAHAHA.

I am just not impressed with the aesthetic of the evo. Also, the lack of side airbags bugs me, as well as no cruise control. Want better power? Go stage 2, want better handling? buy springs and swaybars, want better seats? buy new seats... no biggie. Want boxer sound? You will never get it with the disease ridden raspy note of the 4g63.

I totally agree, Subaru has improved the STi each year to try and keep it competitive with the EVo and any other cars out there.

I can't believe they can just dismiss all the improvements and just basically copy and paste last year's review and make a few changes.

These mags just need to stay true and do a real and fair comparison. If they did that, then there would be no complaints except to the losing car company which then would have to improve the car. But obviously there will always be bias and/or laziness.
