Its personal preference I guess. Usually enthusiasts like to have control of those aspects of thier car.

OK, thanks, I guess that makes some sense. I admit that I myself have been slightly annoyed at them a few times -- because they fooled me into thinking my lights were on via the stalk switch. But it sounded to me like people are complaining about DRL putting their lights on when they want them off, not complaining (like me) about DRL putting their lights on when they want them on.

Anyway, sorry for this little diversion.

To bring it back on topic, I'd guess no major changes for 2007 and a big change for 2008. But I haven't been following the rumor mill extensively.

believe it or not, i heard that at work (i work at a suby dealer) though i think it's just stupid BS. the source wasn't very reliable. 2007 will perhaps see very minor changes, 2008, most likeyl big change, i mean look at the pattern for impreza's

Well when you look at the impreza, 93-01 was pretty much the same car. Then when SOA brought the WRX in 02...Things just seem to jump left and right with the cars.

And as for the DRLs, I hate them. Subaru allows the lights to go off every time the car is turned off. Why even have DRLs? I know that lots of suby owners, myself included keep my lights on most of the time because I am very forgetful with the lights. If I don't hear a beep when I turn my car off then I don't worry about anything.

I think 08 will bring the all new impreza. Something that I have a feeling will be more along the lines of the French Hatchbacks to really compete in the WRC (please sign the petition on Speed). What I do hope that Subaru offers is a hatch, and a 2-door-4 door version.

The sooner they change the car completely the sooner we will all have a clasic. And in 20 years we can sell them for 800k on the auction block.

According to Edmunds.com the Evo is gonna be All New on 07, with more HP/TQ and 6-sp sequential shift. SOA will have to do something to the STi in order to stay in the game.

I hope a more aggressive 2 door coupe will be available in 08, considering the origines of the WRX (the rally scene) most cars are small hatches, so i think the time for 4wd WRC's is coming to an end.

Regarding the DRL discussion, what pisses me off is that the difference between full lights and DRL is almost non existant, its like ure driving with ure lights on all day long. Most cars just have some subtle small part of the light on, that looks pretty cool. I guess someone could rewire the DRL so that the little parking lights light up instead of the headlight, but who wants to go through all that.
