Default It's offical, Australia gets 2.5ltr WRX and STi models.

Australia has now officially got the 2.5ltr turbos. WRX is rated the same as the USDM model. However the STi is not

Subaru Australia has chose to detune the STi slightly to 276hp/284tq VS the USDM 300/300. I am sure it is mechanicly the same, it would be a matter of ecu tuning which is making the difference.

None the less, with many Aussie Subaru tuning companies this will help get even more toys onto the market for the 2.5ltrs

Article on www.Subaru.com.au about the 06 models

With the Forester XT already having the 2.5ltr Turbo, the only model which doesn't have the 2.5ltr turbo now is the Liberty GT (Legacy GT) which still has a 255hp (241hp auto) 2.0ltr. I am sure it will recieve the 2.5ltr very soon as the 2.0 has a fair bit of lag and the Mazda 6 MPS (Mazdaspeed 6) is due out in Aust very soon with 2.3ltrs
