I, like most people here, didn't like the way the 06' looked, but.....I have now seen the car in person and I have to tell ya I actually like it....the only thing I do not like is the clear tailights, it now screams "ricer" from the rear so those would have to go

Swap with an 04/05, that's what I plan to do. Along with removing the rear Subaru logo and replacing with the Subaru letters. Basically, and 04/05 trunk on an 06.

I too must admit that the nose and look is growing on me a bit, but I still prefer the more squarish lines of the 04/05. The 06 does look fantastic in white though!

For me, there aren't enough changes to the car to warrant getting excited over. The only major changes are in the DCCD (41/59, new differential, and steering sensor.) Other than that the 06 is 30-50lbs heavier without any great changes. It's good for people that are buying a STi for the first time (or replacing a totalled one) but I don't think there is good value in trading up. The only thing I envy on the 06s is the fact that it is the first STi in Canada that gets HIDs...and nice ones too.

My curiosity and interest will be peaked one I see the full revision scheduled for 07/08.

plan on minor upgrades in 07 with a fully new model in 08. The value in the 06 and 07 is that what we will likely see in '08 will no longer be such a shock to us. At least we get to keep the same style body while getting used to the new front end, instead of having to deal with a completely new car, like we did in '02...

" O6 ugly? Wait for the 08"

Umm... nobody even knows... for all you know, it could look like a ferrari...

The current nose isn't so bad... its just that it doesn't flow with the rest of the car.

Its like taking the new Legacy front and slapping it on a 2002 legacy. The front is nice, but when coupled with the old rear, it just looks funky.

Evidence can be found where the mirror meets the front fenders... in the 04-05 models, the line would flow from the front edge of the fender and go right into the mirror area... now, it doesn't even make an attempt.

Im sure there's a possibility that the next model will address this with a full re-design...

I think this is the most likely scenario too. This is why the 06 has more appeal to me. The 06 just needs to grow on people.

Where do you get this information from? I have been under the impression that the all-new platform was coming in '07.
