Subaru owner history and 2006 Impreza opinion.

I was curious about the ownership history of members here with regards to their opinions about the restyle of the 2006 Impreza, so I thought I would put together a little poll. I think I covered all necessary options, but if not, just post what you feel. This is a public poll. Your votes will be visible to everyone.

No poll option for me. Own a 95 and 04. Not fond of restyle.

Restyle is growing on me. The only thing that has bothered me is the front end (as I like the tail lights), and after comparing to the 04/05's, the 06 does look more modern. I just wish the fog covers were a little more agressive looking, like the 04/05's, and not so plain. I wonder if those are interchangeable though.

You guys both fit under option #2 since you owned pre-2003 models. The intent is to determine who has pre-Version8 Subaru experience and who is new to the Subaru party.

I used to have a pretty quick stock turbo 04 STi.. I have always liked the 05 interior update so when the 06 came out I decided to take a look. First impression.. eh. white looked great, but the taillights and front grill took getting used to. After I drove it though... everything changed... the car drives 10x better!!! A quicker more effortless steering is very nice... especially in low speed manuevers and the softness of the ride is just what i wanted out of a $30K car... the bumpiness of my old car almost made me buy a daily driver for my long commutes to work, but i can really handle this car. No complaints so far!

I'll let you know next week after I get back from the dealer. I hate the pictures, but there is a slight chance that it will appeal to me in person. The wingless WRX slithering up Pikes Peak in several recent magazine articles looks almost tolerable, but I still look at it and think, "if it only had the '05 nose."

Okay I've seen one in person. It wouldn't stop me from buying one, but I'm glad I have an '05.
