I think they had this car at the Los Angeles auto show. I took a picture of it on Saturday. I'll check later when I get home and post a link.

I'm sure they'll be correcting it.

I spoke with Ali. Crazy coincidence...about 5 years ago, he sold me the '86 Buick GN I still own. At that time, he wasn't involved with Subarus yet...GNs and old Chevys. Anyway, he wasn't responsible for the type-o. And yes, the "signature" plates will be be corrected for the 40 production cars. The one in the pic, like the rest of the ESX/STi shown, was produced for the LA Auto Show. I'm assuming they were in a hurry to make the show...which is why it's pictured without the upgraded rims, etc.

Is the kit CARB cerified? I went to their site and they do not mention anything about it.
They sell it ala cart as well. Downpipe with or without cat.
I still have to see a turbo back (or even a downpipe that is emmissions certified)

I am going to send them an email asking them.

Regards

Nick

I could be wrong, and most probably am... but I believe there are slight differences between the staged upgrades and the dealer available series.
I know they have to keep the factory airbox at the dealer. Also not sure it includes th Injen CAI. they don't remove any cats. I would assume they can get 425 crank with their bigger top mount intercooler, opening some restictions in exhaust and ecutec reflash.

I see no mention of Subaru being involved in this and I am willing to bet that there will be no warranty through Subaru, maybe ESX, but definitely not Subaru.

The article in Turbo Mag says it is fully covered by Subaru warranty. And one would assume that if they sell them at dealers around the country then it is Subaru Approved.

Also will this be warrantied? And if so, will that open a door for modders getting denied for having a BOV (no hp gain) or Exhaust (10-20hp) or ETC, whereas they warranty a 425HP version of the same car (including a bigger turbo)? Not to mention, if this is true, I guess Subaru knows the car is at least reliable at 425HP or so and with a new turbocharger. (This is all of course if its going to be warrantied, which would be cool).

I know what you mean as far as Subaru but if it's limited edition and only 40 or so are being built ESX could be warranting them themselves. I mean for 50 grand and only doing 40, they could be just figuring the cost into the car.

Just saw one in West LA last night parked on Barrington and Santa Monica with the the silver on red mesh wheels that Ashar is seen holding in the last pic. Not my cup of tea in the looks department.

Does that mean they're available now through a dealer? If so, what's the actual price?

If their TMIC can handle 425 crank, that might be a nice alternative to a FMIC for that range of HP. However, the StaticX kit seems to be a lot cheaper and provides better and more power.

I saw the 001 car at one of our local meets last weekend. I spoke to Ali and he said that the emissions legal version will be 365 crank HP. To pass emissions, they have to leave the stock cats in place and only changed out the turbo, catback and tuning. So much for a 425 street legal, dealer warranteed car.
