A hatchback STi could indeed be hot. A return to 2-door supercars from Subaru -- now that might make up for goofing up the front end they just finished fixing! I see a 2008 or 2009 trade-in in my future...

Hi guys first time poster but am on i-club.com. I'm deciding whether or not to get a 2005 or a 2006 and as for now, I definitely like the 2005 better. The sales manager at my local dealer is saying that Subaru is being "tight lipped" and that the grill "will be" in effect an "inverted Alfa" front end.... He was saying that he didn't get any other information about drivetrain, tho I'd think there will be minimal changes...

As for a hatchback.. I'm not too privvy on a hatchback.. The current concept reminds me of the Peugot that is running in the WRC now.

Also, I want the Subaru to be a Subaru.. Not an Alfa Romeo.. The best exterior I saw IMHO was the old school (now) GC8.. If Subaru does this to the Impreza, then I'm waiting for a Legacy 6sp Sti. Now THAT is a nice looking car to me..

There looks to be like there will be 3 versions for 2007 for different markets - what you are looking at on that cover will most likely be the 07 for JDM.

If that is the JDM MY07, then it will be known as the MY08 here in the US. In that case, they would be producing this years update for 2 years. That makes more sense.

Well you guys got the 05s right after we did here in Japan so the 06s coming out here in a few weeks will be what you are getting for 06 this year.

Next June, 2007, is when the full model change will happen - they will be released probably as 2008 models but will be available summer 2007.

The thing to note is that it will be a whole new breed of Impreza and that is what I will now be waiting to see then buy.

I always thought the model year of cars in japan reflected when it began manufacturing, unlike this silly 6-months-ahead thing we do in the US. Therefore, in japan, MY07 was released in 2007.

Anyway, bring on the facelifted impreza ... and the new impreza.
