That latest picture looks quite cool...wouldn't mind seeing something like that either.

Whats the deal with Subaru creating weird designs? The new design model doesn't look too appealing.

They should also have FMIC already.

Uhm, no. Pininfarina, BMW, and most recently Alfa.

Thumbs up New Impreza

I received this email yesterday regarding the "new impreza".

Thank you for taking the time to contact us. It is my understanding
that the entire Impreza model line (interior and exterior) are being
redesigned for the 2006 model year. Generally, we do not just redesign the
exterior or interior of a model line. They are both redesigned at the
same time. Information on the 2006 Impreza models should be available
at the end of this Summer, as they should be available at dealerships
by the end of September.

Thank you for the opportunity to be of assistance. If you need any
future assistance, please feel free to contact us again.

Best wishes,

John J. Mergen

With all the information circulating on the internet, I am not sure what to believe. Personally, I don't see buying the new impreza when it is not really "new".

I wonder how much more/less they are going to be moneywise.

Actually comparing other cars that come in 2 and 4 doors, there is no weight reduction. The 2d needs extra bracing and heavier hardware to hold a bigger door.

I'm all for the hatch, as long as they keep the sedan available for those who want it. One thing I've always liked about the STi's is that they can remain fairly practical while having the performance an enthusiast would love.

The hatch is awesome, but I'll stick to the sedan. Now if the WRX STi Wagon came along...

Hello everyone, I have been lurking here for a while. Some of you probably recongnize me from NASIOC. Anyway, hello.. greetings.. etc. etc.

I think that the new redesigns all look really nice. It would be nice having an STi hatch. That thing would be a fun car to drive.

See you guys around.. more and more.. when I get my 06

You mean came back! We had them here in Japan but they went out 4 years ago - they were sweet but lacked Brembo breaks and a few other goodies the sedan had.
