250 to the wheels and only 300HP at the crank... RIGHT, Subaru.

If this Dyno report is true, either Subaru REALLY did something special as far as drivetrain loss goes, or the car is making more than 300HP to the crank.

Either way, I want charts!!

I really won't complain if they under-rated it...

The problem with quoting them is that they have a steriod Evo. That sucker is a "press ringer" with its 240 at the wheels.....whatever
Kinda strange..that whole deal with Shiv and dyno #'s. Turns out the SCC test Evo wasn't a "ringer" because every midwest Evo (meaning they were running 93-94 octane) has dynoed right around 240 stock. Also, the Evo's that are running good gas are running 13.1-13.4 stock...with timeslips and videos to back up the run. The Evos are real rich up top and boost lowers to 16psi as boost increases. With an mbc (holding boost at 19) and safc someone ran a 12.7. I can't wait for the Sti vs. Evo battles. True though, a good majority of Evo's and Sti's will not stay stock. I wonder which one will respond better to mods...

How does boost lower to 16psi as boost increases? Hmm..explain that one to me. And 13.1-13.4 quarters for the EVO with a decent launch or a super aggressive launch? Think about it..A decent launch will probably get you a high 13 et with an EVO.

Wouldn't it have to be a wheel dyno if he quoted whp? I can't imagine him pulling out the engine to get the crank #'s and then doing an educated guess at the wheel...and if it really is 250 whp, then daaaammmnnn

Well i read the Road and Track with the Evo 8 road test today when i was at a relatives house for easter. It was the March issue I think? Anyways they got their Evo 8 to do a best of 5.1 sec 0-60 and a 1/4 mile best of 13.8 sec. Those are the kind of numbers i figured the evo would do. Hell guys the brochure for the Real Deal Japanese Evo VII with 30 more hp than the USDM evo says it does a 0-62 of 5.2 sec. I just can't believe that people are doing 12's in stock evos...thats just ridiculous. Thats faster than a Z06 for crying out loud. A friggin viper does a 12.2 1/4 mile. Ahhhh.....whatever i'm sick of this thread. My RX-7 does an 11.8 1/4 mile with poor traction and that beats a Porsche GT-2. Peace!!

He meant boost is reduced as RPMs increase. I think the magic RPM is 6500 and above for the lower pressure. I would guess that it doesn't just "switch over" from 19 to 16 all of a sudden. Probably gradually tapers off.

Jesus Christ!!! I was wondering why on earth someone would bring back a thread from 3 years ago, but I guess this is as good a reason as any.
