Considering that no-one was wearing seatbelts, it's a miracle only one person died !

Bottom line - if you drive fast, you should know how to and have at least some experience. Doesn't take much experience to be able to floor the gas...

PCH is fun?! WTF!!! This road SUCKS!

The road has some great views, but there are speed traps galore. The last time I was cruising on the PCH, my radar detector was going off every five minutes. There were several California Highway patrol motorcycles sitting in driveways and other hidden spots with radar guns. In between, speed traps I finally got to pick up some speed. Then I heard on my police scanner, "silver wagon heading your way at high speed, I think it is one of those Subarus." Apparently, they also use helicopters to point out people going over the speedlimit, which I think is some ridiculously low number like, 35mph.

Here is a website that has a few of the speedtraps:

exactly. I don't feel sorry for people like that. They had to become intoxicated somehow - they made a string of bad decisions. 1. become intoxicated as minors in the first place. 2. drive while intoxicated, or get in the car with someone who is. 3. drive recklessly while intoxicated.

It sucks that our insurance goes up from people like this.

Darwin strikes again.

I agree, but it is freaky how when you get into someones car you could be giving up your life. Some of you prob remember the kid here in CA, the wrx that went off 60ft cliff......the dude riding shotgun was just along for the ride on the way to a meet...........the kid driving had already wrecked before so his parents decided to get him a wrx. dumb. Still I know when he got into the passengers seat in his buddies wrx I doubt he tought he'd be dying that day, or even considered it.
