IWSTI Addict since: Mar 2007 Trader Rating: (2) | EDIT: D100 and Sigma 28-70 SOLD! 24 prime and 70-300 still for sale... Sup all!? I'm selling my Nikon D100 DSLR with attached MBD-100 vertical shutter release and a few lenses. Camera has less than 5k shutter actuations and is in mint working order. Included is all original manual, strap, cap, box, cable release, all accessories, and two batteries. The only flaw with the camera is a little bit of the grip rubber is pealing back on the vertical grip, which is believe it or not, completely normal and expected. D100 + grip = $450 Sigma 28-70mm f/2.8 EX = $250 (used maybe a half dozen times) Nikon 70-300 f/4-5.6 G = $100 (never used) Nikon 24mm f/2.8 D prime = $200 (tiny nick on the glass, does NOT show on pictures, awesome lens) All prices are firm and don't include shipping if you aren't local. Here are the pictures (none of the 24mm yet) Nikon D100 With Battery Grip ![]() ![]() ![]() Sigma 28-70mm f/2.8 EX ![]() ![]() Nikon 70-300 f/4-5.6 G ![]() -HC This ad is not endorsed by this member. All three listed here don't have to go together... just the camera, just a lens, or all three, totally up to you. Last edited by holycow; 08-09-2007 at 01:03 PM. | |

IWSTI Addict since: Nov 2006 Trader Rating: (5) | *edit* Nevermind, I googled it and found out what it is. Considering the 70-300mm lense. I'll keep checking back within the next 2 weeks. I have to buy my JDM 4,5,6 gears so I need those first before I buy this lense. Good luck on the sales. |

A Zoom lens is a lens where you can change the focal length between a set range. A prime lens, is a lens that has only one focul length (like your eyes). You can't zoom in with your eyes right? Nope, they are fixed. Pros and Cons: A Zoom lens has increased flexibility because you can shoot wide and tight using the same lens. You don't need to change to a different lens. But, a zoom lens will typically have slightly lower image quality, and will never be as fast as a prime. Primes exist down to F1.2, with 1.4s and 1.8s being very common. You will never see a zoom faster than F2.8. There is less glass and less mechanics in a prime, which is always an advantage, but at the cost of less flexibility. D50, yes.
