IMPORTANT

Anyone who's ever wanted to go to a trackday, your chance is now. Well, the 24th of this month anyway. The Ferarri Owner's Club - as many of you know - has an open day at Waterford Hills that day. It is a WEDNESDAY. They want/need more cars, so you can get a lot of seat time if you register.

I've attached the entry form PDF. I'm going. So should you! Get your car where it belongs!

The only problem boony other than it is on a wednesday, its $250 rather than the usual $150. I suppose lunch is included tho...

Anyway, I ordered my tires from tirerack yesterday, so I should have a fresh set of RE01R 245/40R17 arriving sometime later this week. Now all I need to do is call that one guy at AutoEurope to get them mounted and align my car. Do you think I should get some camber bolts for the front or just see what I can get out of the stock bolts?

if you got the money and time then go for the bolts, if not then just max out the stockers.

If you get the Ingalls camber bolts, I suggest you ignore their torque specs and crank them to about 100 foot pounds. When they're torqued to the recommended specs, they slip.

I have a spare set of stock bolts if anyone needs them.

I have a spare set of Whiteline camber bolts I'll sell you for 1/2 the regular cost. They sell for $60 - $65 + shipping, ($70 ish),..I'll sell them to you for $35. They've never been used.

Stu.

EDIT,...OR,...........if you want to do it right,..................I have a used set of Noltec camber/caster plates. They would allow ou to run -1.3 degrees on the street and then -2.5 at the track. All without compromising the integrety of the strut/knucke connection like all camber bolts do.

The key here is how much time you get for the money. You get about 75 minutes of seat time at a good open track day. That's with a hundred cars at the track.

This day is limited to 30 cars. I expect to get about twice as much seat time. So, $150 for 75 minutes = $2 a minute. Not bad. This will be $250 for 150 minutes (if my calculations are correct - it is my first one after all). That's less than $2 a minute. Plus you get lunch.

And with the 3balls group, $150 plus lunch, 60 cars and no limit on the number of 20 minute sessions.

I usually get 2 hours of track time at a 3Balls event. And that's about all I and the car are up for.

I think the big draw at the Ferrari club event would be ripping past Ferraris all day.

You'd deffinately want to make sure your camcorder batteries are charged up for that one.

Is anyone that's going bringing umbrella girls? I think that would be key for fitting in there. Perhaps someone dressed up as an engineer with a laptop,..LOL.
