Or you don't care as its not your project? This ad is not endorsed by this member. Please register or login to hide this ad. |

IWSTI Addict since: Dec 2006 Trader Rating: (1) | It was pretty nice out tonight. Cold air, empty highway, sure was tempting to go fast. I think the 1 series felt a little more stable at ~130 range than the STI does Jason. Especially when I hit the brakes, the STi nosedives so much that the rear feels a little light. oh yeah, and I saw an Enzo on the way home on big beaver. It was nice. |

![]() I'm having more and more faith in myself and this car. The STi was much easier to hurl around town without things getting hairy, while in the Bimmer you gotta watch not to let it get TOO loose. Don't get me wrong, the Bimmer is still a very well-composed car and I do love it, but it'll definitely let you make mistakes where-as if you trust the STi you gotta REALLY push to **** up! When we were on our way home from the last meet and we did the "Michigan left" on to M59 that's about as much as I'll take the car sideways without starting to worry (and yes, it has been more sideways). Concerning higher speeds: I had my STi in the 140+ range at least few times and it's not something that really felt "safe" (not that driving that fast is really safe anyway), but in the Bimmer it doesn't give you that "I better slow down" feeling until about 130-140 and even then it still feels incredibly stable. If I could have an '08 STi for the winter (say... Aspen White w/17" RPF-1s wrapped in Icebears on all 4 corners & Stage II w/Protune that won't ass-plode) and my 135i as-is w/some uber-sticky rubber and Dinan flash the world would be so perfect that you guys would likely have virgins knocking on your door offering themselves up to you daily (mind you, this is one of those "realistic" fantasies outside of the virgins part... ). Oh and did you hand the Enzo his ass?

My guess would be that it's not fixable or to have sent to mfr. to see what they will do.
