Hey Jason, I saw your car today on the lift at Hodges. I totally noticed the SSRs and the JDM front lip and was like "hey I know that subie". Apparently a power steering hose got a hole in it from rubbing up against some bolt. I talked with the guy who bought it for a while and he seemed cool enough. He said he keeps lookin' for ya with your Bimmer on woodward.

Nice! Yeah, Matt told me that the power steering line had worn through, I'm just surprised it wasn't in the shop sooner - he was kind of freakin' over the situation (can't blame him). Oh well, at least the car's in good hands and being taken care of. I'll likely be out at least 1 day next weekend so maybe I'll be able to catch up with him and see the car again.

Jason, did it have a stock airbox or aftermarket intake? I had that Blitz SUS and dickhead Dan from Godspeed, laid the hose clamp across the low pressure PS return line, and it rubbed a hole and I was out 350 bux for the dealer to replace!

It was the stock airbox. I'm guessing this was some kind of fluke because the install of the motor was so flawless that you could barely tell it was ever replaced - Jan and Angel did TOP NOTCH work putting it in. Regardless of what caused it, I'm guessing it was covered under warranty since I transferred what was left of the 7 year/100k warranty to Matt (I believe 23 months and 77k miles!).

See if you can beat 15 hours.

Next time I'm hiring a pro... The car came out quite nice, but there are lots of things that I know someone else could have perfected that my "skills" didn't allow me to.

I'm in no hurry. And I wouldn't pay someone to do it. I get too much personal satisfaction doing it myself. There are some things that are either too tedious (oil changes) or too difficult (wheel studs) that I'll either pay to have it done (the former) or ask for help (the latter).

Detailing is neither to me. I enjoy it.
