Such a pain in the ass. I got final approval from the bank to order mine today and want to get the 8 GB for my wife so I'm probably gonna have to resort to ordering mine too... I was really hoping to get lucky and find them at one of the local Apple stores, but that sounds highly unlikely.

No worries. I've dealt with a POS Motoral FAILZR for three years-ish. I can wait another few days.

Welp, I have high hopes for the iPhone so hopefully Apple won't disappoint.

It's kind of disappointing that between the 3-4 other PDA phones I've had and the numerous (5-10) other "cutting-edge" regular phones before those none of them were up-to-par. This most recent XV6800 by Verizon has definitely taken the cake... At first it seemed to have a lot of potential, but it really tops the list as far as piece of **** phones go in my book.

I've only had four different phones in my many years of cell usage. Two Nokias, a very very early Eriksson (before Sony, I belive), and this Motorola. All of them were past their prime when I got them. I look forwarding to having a new phone that's actually a new phone.

I have several friends that have / had iPhones, and got rid of them.

I personally dont like it, yea it has some cool features, but I prefer the interoperability of ****ty windows on my Sprint Touch (yea i reboot every day)

The main reason I held off on the first gen was because A) it was the FIRST gen and B) because it didn't support MS Exchange.

I'm very anxious to pick up the new one... I know it has the typical proprietary traits of anything that is Apple, but the UI and stability is just SO much better, in my opinion.

Sprint doesn't get more than two bars in my apartment = right out.
T-Mobile doesn't have decent phones and I'm paying too much for ****ty service = right out.
Alltel got bought by Verizon = right out
Verizon was the only competitor, but it came down to what phone I wanted = right out.

I'm not a huge AT&T fan, but I did want an iPhone. Considering I've never had a really good phone, I thought it was about time I did. And I hate Blackberry.

Just curious why do you have to get bank approval for ordering an I-phone?

Heh, I didn't really mean it that way... I'm not financing the thing!

I work for a bank and all of my cell phones and bills are covered as part of my employment here; however, being that I'm currently in a contract and will incur charges through canceling I had to get approval from my boss to do so.

5th, eh? Sounds like a GREAT phone. /sarcasm

The service is worth the $$ to me knowing the phone will inherently do EVERYTHING I want/need it to... I like tinkering just as much as the next guy, but don't like having to hack something or install a bunch of programs just to achieve what it should be able to do right out of the box.

And I don't want anymore iPhone hate out of you until you go to the Apple store and see how much better it is for yourself (like I said to a few days ago)!

I mean if you drop, it crack it or just plain damage it, there's no offered insurance to replace it. You fork out 200 or 300 bones to gfet a new one...WTF is with that? That right there = NO AH AH for me...
