Default New to Forum, looking to buy STI, from MN

Hello, my name is Devin and I live in Minnesota. I am looking to buy an 05 STI for under $19000 and thought this would be a great place to start and to get some more info about the STI's.

Under 19000, its going to be kind of high mileage and possibly beat up for that kind of money . I would recomend having a fellow member from this forum that lives in MN help you out and check out any car you might purchase

Thanks for the insight. I did find an 05 for $17,000. Needs a new clutch and the rear caliper sticks. The rims looked like they had some pitting on them from the winter driving up here. It had a full turbo back exhaust and short ram intake and everything else was stock. I have considered it, but looking at $1200 for a clutch, $700 to get the rims refinished, and a few hundred more for a sticky caliper and we are at $19,000 plus dollars. It had 54,000 miles on it. Besides that I didn't see any problems. He admitted driving it hard and said it had been through one winter in MN where we have salt on the roads. What do you guys think?

sign up at mnsubaru.com and see if anyone knows the car.

17k sounds pretty cheap for that mileage, even with the listed problems.
I'd have to wonder if there isn't something else wrong with it.

I'm in MN, considering selling mine with 32k miles, but I'd need to get a good bit more than $19k.

sounds TGTBT.
ask if engine management was done (e.g. Cobb AccessPort).
a sticky rear caliper is fishy.
even if the turbo is shot (or close), it's not a bad deal. you just want to be sure that the bottom end seals up (compression test).
