I would guess something in the clutch/flywheel assembly as well.

What clutch/flywheel assembly you using now? I thought you had went to some sort of triple plate at some point, but I cannot remember.

Sorry to hear man. Sucks dood.

I've also been thinking that if he is running the Exedy twin or triple, they use the factory throw out bearing. So my thinking was that since the throwout bearing snaps into the pressure plate, the bearing might have popped out of the pressure plate.

thanks for your ideas guys. i currently have an exedy triple disc clutch/flywheel. I have hated everyday of owning it, now might be the chance to get rid of it.

I need this problem to be an easy fix, overdue for something small. lord knows I've replaced everything expensive on the bastard.

keep the guess's coming. my car is at the suby dealer, should find out what the problem is by tomorrow afternoon. I want my baby back ): it felt sooo good smoking that cobra, just like the good ol days, haha!

Tilton or ATS clutches FTW! or.... ever thought of an ACT 4 puck with an EXTREME pressure plate. Those extreme hold waayyy more power than the HD pp's.

^ I would consider an extreme act, havent researched the diff between the 4 puck or 6 puck. I dont see how either of them could be worse than the exedy triple. the exedy triple is a tough clutch to drive and noisey as hell, look forward to getting rid of it if it's my problem.

I'm not gonna venture a guess here, amigo. I'm hoping it's the clutch, but the multi-plates are usually pretty stout...not much of a stop 'n go clutch, however.

My ACT 6 puck unsprung & street-lite flywheel wasn't bad at all for a DD - it actually exceeded my expectations by a long shot. I'm not sure... I seem to remember the 6 puck being rated for 608 ft/lbs torque (assume at the crank).

EDIT:
ACT Race Discs | Products ~ Advanced Clutch Technology®

I had the heavy duty pressure plate so it was rated at 659 and not 608.

^ i dont think a 6 puck is gonna do it, I'm hoping the 4 puck is much more friendly than the exedy triple. I need something that will hold 675whp600tq, assuming that is the range I will make on c16 or vp import.

I just need the fukker to hold together long enough for next weekend ):

Yeah the 4 puck with the xtreme should be more than enough. I know some honda guys that run them on their gt42r civics. They blow their synchros before their clutches.

You are supposed to break a clutch in (ideally speaking) so if it is your clutch you are gonna have to replace it on short notice and drive a non-broken-in clutch.

You can use that sintered deal from ACT since you will be doing clutchless shift. I'm betting it would hold the torque fo sho. Might be mean to drive though.

I have a 360 mile drive to alpharetta this friday, dyno tune saturday, import showdown on sunday. hell, for $500 as long as it lasts on sunday then I'll be tickled. of course I'd prefer to have it much longer, but I NEED TO GO TO THE TRACK ON SUNDAY!!!!!! haha!

Puck clutches only need about 15mins of driving for break in. The pucks are so abrasive they bed-in real quick. I highly suggest a stock flywheel to go along with the ACT "if" the clutch turns out to be the problem. Good luck to you homie!

Few of us are coming from Mobile and my buddy John will be bringing his orange 280z RB25 powered 280Z vs Twin turbo GTS viper from a 40mph roll - Video I was at Coby other day and as I was talking to Jose I heard your car MOVING down the street! Looking forward to see it at the track.
