I think the part that is scraping is just the air dam under the car. On the C5's it was 3 sections of hard plastic and could move forward and backward. In your pictures it looks like it's the same on the C6's. Anyway, I guess it was a pain in the ass having to worry about going up a slight hill and having to go sideways into my not so steep driveway.

F'ing insane ride, nice choice for american muscle. Actually the only choice for american muscle, power to weight ratio.

either EFI Live or HPTuners. they cost $400 each including the tune, not bad considering the em costs for scoobies.

Good run man. You just need some sticky tires and some practice getting them warm and you will be good to go!

^after talking with several other z06 owners, seems i need some cooler weather as well. basically, once the car hits 200 degrees it begins to pull timing. it's just too hot in the deep south for me to keep my z under 205, need a 160 thermostat and have the fans reprogramed to come on earlier. sticky tires would be very nice, but i love my oem 19's, of which there isnt a drag radial made for them.

I'm gonna have all of my upgrades installed (cam/headers/intake) and try again in the late summer/fall. I should be able to make a 10 sec pass with those mods on the oem runflats, at least I hope.

That sounds right. The guy I saw on the vette forum that ran a high 10 stock had good/cool weather and low, low altitude plus he had drag radials on so was getting some serous launches. Ideal conditions. I think you are doing pretty decent if you are runnin 12 flats with bad 60s. Nail the launch and you have a stock mid-11 car even in hot weather. Nice.

You know you better post up once you get those new mods and times.

you know I'll post up my #'s as soon as I get them. I doubt I'll go back to the track this summer, which means my next trip will not be stock, haha!

I figured I'd post a quick update on my z....I've had a change of heart about modding. I sold my katech cam/springs/retainers, harland sharp rocker arms, but keeping my american racing headers/xpipe. I am completly content with the car in bone stock form, which is shocking. I havent installed my headers, but might in the future. although, I did have my car dyno tuned yesterday...

427/399 stock/killerbee intake in 103 degree temps (south alabama/africa). final was 465/431, picked up 38whp/31. the car feels like a whole new animal, just insane for an intake + tune. the tuner (James/RWTD) has an 08 Z06, he ran 11.1 at 129mph with a tune only, no other mods. He mentioned my car should pick up 20-25rwhp when the temps drop into the upper 70's/low 80/s.

so far, while in mexico....I have been able to squash several cars...

500whp sti, 550whp gto, 2008 m5, and a 600whp s2000, 570whp gt500, 480whp camaro ss, etc. Pretty shocking for a car that was bone stock. helps curb the hunger to mod.

anyway, I'll be sure to post updates in the future. here's a vid of me racing the s2000 in mexico, haha!

my wifey's H3 is coming off lease in the next few months, had to find a saweet new replacement for her. I'm friends with a local dealer that went to a Lexus auction in Orlando Fl this week, found exactly what I wanted...a 2006 GS430, 27kmiles. I stole this biotch, paid about half of what she stickered for 2 1/2 yrs ago...
