thanks! what kind of tranny? ppg? clutch? I heard I was the "only" person breaking input shafts. I believe my exedy triple disc is the culprit, at least I hope. I now have an act 4 puck extreme and oem flywheel, hoping it will slip just a little bit, whereas the triple doesnt slip at all.

at least you have been going to the consistently good TopSpeed - they have a great group over there IMO

yeah, topspeed is family! doug and I have been friends since they opened the doors several years ago, he is the only person I'll let tune my car.

I bought a brand new 6speed from Suby and purchased the 1-4dog box gearset from Andrew. The clutch is a Tilton Carbon-Carbon... I broke off one tooth and cracked 2 others on the counter gear which screwed up the input shaft and I broke the R180 at the same time(shot the drivers bearing out of the side of the diff). I am also on 26" tall slicks and use a 75shot of Nitrous in 3rd gear along with 30# of boost....that best of 11.03 at 135 had a 2.9 60ft and an 8.2 sec 1/8th!. Its not spinning I just cant get the car not to break off the line in 1st or 2nd, even if I roll into the throttle in those gears...So I have just been able to make the run in 3rd gear and see about 800rpm in 4th so far...

I have tried every combo of tire, clutch, axles, trans, rear, drvieshafts and launch since the beginning of summer....Hopefully this new gearset and a 1000# diet helps!

woa! that's a lot of carnage, seems i have found someone that feels my pain. I have also broken several of those parts, including rear diffs/cv shafts/axles and 2 input shafts. get rid of the slicks and nitrous till you can keep her in 1 piece, haha!

on my 10.87 run I was only at 24psi, broke the input shaft when we turned up the boost to 28. I have trapped higher mph on the stock motor/tranny, but the gears make all the diff. I cant wait to install the new hotside, and get retuned. I'd like to trap 135+ and run mid 10's, that's reasonable right? haha!

sucks to live far from your tuner. I live 360 miles from topspeed, 5.5hrs. It's usually a 2+ day excursion when I go to topspeed, but it's worth it. plus, I enjoy wandering around the shop checking out all the cars, not to mention the sexy new addition they recently acquired (Valerie). haha!
