IWSTI Addict since: Aug 2004 Trader Rating: (3) | ok guys, I swore I wouldnt create a thread until everything was finished, complete with a nasty 10 sec pass. Oh well, I'm bored tonight and figured I'd whore it up!!! Plus, I'm really close to achieving my goals, figured I could use some support from teh scooby community. ![]() most of you dont know, but my sti has been down for about a year. it's a long story, I'll spare the details, but the good news is my baby now resides back in my garage. here's my new setup: Axis Stage 5 block with darton sleeves, cp pistons, pauter rods. 9:1 compression. Axis P&P heads with Supertech valvetrain, and Kelford cams, non avcs 280 degree. Good'ol UR 35R kit (.82), perrin fmic, 1000cc injectors & rails, dual walbros, hydra, dc sports headers, aps 3.5 tbe, etc. ![]() HUGE props to Ron for building an amazing motor. I cannot say enough great things about him, excellent products and service. the drivetrain consists of a ppg Andrewtech built dogbox, straight cut gears 1-4, oem 5th & 6th. Exedy triple disc clutch, dss level 5 axles, cv joints, and hubs. TopSpeed has been behind the install and tune, recently completing a base break-in tune. Doug has been working his usual magic, car drives perfectly. On 18 psi/93 pump, she made 471whp/400tq. On a half tank of 93 plus a few gallons of C16 she made 544/470 23psi. This motor is insane! We should easily break low/mid 600's on c16 30psi. ![]() (470/400 pump not shown) I went to the local track this week, made a few passes. I have had to completely re-learn how to drive the car, the dogbox is nutz! 4th gear will come close to 150mph. Anyway, I made 1 decent pass, 11.27 @ 128mph, 1.82 60ft. Clutchless shifting ftmfw!!! ![]() last summer, I ran 11.21 at 129mph (previous motor), 32psi on vp import, same turbo. The car was making 570whp at the time, and had the stock tranny. I basically ran the same et/mph, except with 9psi less and on 93 octane + a few gallons of c16. I might go back to the track next weekend, but will probably wait till I get retuned on 100% C16 or VP Import, 30psi+. My new motor has about 1700 miles, still breaking her in on low boost. anyway, I will be sure to keep everyone updated. I'm runing the car at an Import Showdown Nov 11th in Montgomery, AL. I expect to break into the 10's, but dont want to jinx myself, haha! This ad is not endorsed by this member. Please register or login to hide this ad. IWSTI Addict since: Mar 2005 Trader Rating: (12) | Pretty sick setup. You should be able to trap at least 135 and run a 10.5 on that setup. You have all the right parts to do so. I hate how topspeed didn't use the RPM pick-up line so we could see how the spool is w/o AVCS but high-compression. You can see the benefits of the HC motor with that torque curve though. Its very rare to see a Suby have a torque curve like a big block . Be careful with that HC setup though. Make sure you get a very conservative pump tune. No matter how strong the motor is built, one bad tank will take out a headgasket. Did you copper o-ring the block? |

| Spec C Club | I'm still amazed how much overall power that thing makes on only 23lbs of boost for a 35R. Can't wait for you to bring it to the Rock with 30psi! |

IWSTI Addict since: Aug 2006 Trader Rating: (14) | so you were the one trying to break your stock block, congrats on the build P.S. how does your 3.5" attach to your downpipe, do you use a 3"-->3.5" adapter of some sort? |

my aps 3.5 exhaust fits my UR downpipe perfectly, nothing extra needed. i was surprised. it's LOUD!!! I would not recomend for a daily driver, your head will ring. | |

| Spec C Club | Sick power esp. at 23psi. It's going to be even sicker w/ straight c16!! Do you have any dyno sheets with RPMs instead of speed? Looks like the spool is decent due to the better flowing heads. How high does it rev up to? |

IWSTI Addict since: Aug 2004 Trader Rating: (3) | haha, thanks guys. to answer a few questions....I dont have a dyno chart with rpms but I'll ask doug to post one asap. the motor is built to rev to 9500 rpms, however my 35r only makes power to 7k. I might be upgrading the hotside to a 1.06, which will give me more top end. Last edited by burnin4; 09-30-2007 at 04:40 PM. |

IWSTI Addict since: Aug 2004 Trader Rating: (3) | i found my next weakest link today....r180 finally let go. ordering a new one today, I'll install it with teh quickness. I was going to entertain a "stronger" rear diff, but my stocker was good for hundreds of drag launches, dyno pulls, back road pulls, etc. If i break another one, then I'll get something stronger, but another stocker for now.
